Achievement and celebration filled the air as the University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ) hosted its final Awards Night on November 27, 2024. In a special evening that marked many firsts and lasts, families joined faculty and staff to celebrate exceptional accomplishments in nursing education.

Twenty-four remarkable students took center stage, each representing the future of nursing excellence in Qatar. The ceremony recognized six students with Outstanding Achievement Awards for their exceptional dedication to academic and extracurricular excellence. Two standout students earned distinctive honours - the Leadership Award and Clinical Excellence Award - while sixteen achieved the prestigious Dean's List, showcasing the depth of talent within UCQ's nursing program.

Dean Dr. Janet Rankin, together with Student and Enrollment Services Director Hassan Kandar and Award Committee Head Faisa Farah, shared in the pride of the evening. For the first time, parents attended the ceremony, adding warmth to an already momentous occasion as they witnessed their children's achievements in person.

Behind the scenes, Student Life Specialist Hanan Dorri and the dedicated Student Services team ensured the evening captured the spirit of UCQ's commitment to nursing education. As these future healthcare leaders prepare to shape Qatar's medical landscape, their achievements stand as a testament to UCQ's enduring mission of enriching health and wellness through world-class nursing education.
