Meagan LaRiviere recently joined the University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ) and brings many years of academic leadership, teaching and program development, and implementation.

Meagan's nursing career began in 1991 with experience and interests are in Neonatal, pediatrics, and Wound Care. Since 2002 of Meagan's career has focused on program and curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation in undergraduate and professional education. Specialties in nursing education are wound care, simulation, jurisprudence and legislation, and professional continuing professional development.

Meagan received her Doctor of Education (Educational leadership and research) at the University of Calgary with her thesis, "Integral analysis of Alberta nurses' mandated professional learning." This integral analysis informs the transformation of nursing regulation. Meagan's ongoing research interests continue to be program evaluation and innovation and she plans to ensure a robust evaluation strategy of UCQ's Bachelor of Nursing program with a particular focus on teaching and learning strategies.
