Student Emergency Fund in the Faculty of Law – In honour of Ian Holloway
To honor Ian Holloway’s outstanding 13-year tenure as Dean of the Faculty of Law, this fund is dedicated to helping support our students faced with unforeseen, short-term economic stressors that may impede their academic responsibilities. During Ian Holloway’s tenure, he has seen the need for student emergency funds grow exponentially. Ian knows the importance of caring for each student academically, professionally, and personally. As a faculty, we would never want students to have to choose between completing their studies or having enough food on the table. In commemoration of Ian’s tenure coming to an end, please consider contributing to the Student Emergency Fund in the Faculty of Law – In honour of Ian Holloway.
Displaced Legal Scholars Fund
This fund was created after a group became aware of the plight of Afghan women who were judges in their country and were unable to continue to live and work in Afghanistan under the Taliban’s regime. The Displaced Legal Scholars Fund was created to ensure that legal scholars displaced by war, persecution or political instability have access to funding at UCalgary Law to cover educational costs like; tuition, books, LSAT prep courses and living expenses as they re-establish their lives in Calgary and enter the legal profession in Canada.
