Love the App so many tutors to choose from and my interaction with support has been easy and achieved what I needed.

I would HIGHLY suggest finding a different company to work with. Their policies are dubious at best. They charge when NOT authorized to do so and when they claim they will provide a refund, they short change you. My suggestion? Use iTalki or one of the competitors. Similar platform. Similar or often identical teachers. Honest, ethical company. The latter is the difference.

I love the premise of being able to learn so many different things from tutors around the world. I'd actually say I'm addicted currently, to the platform!

The reason for 3 stars is that the customer service is beyond terrible, like others have pointed out. There should be a phone number to speak to someone. I recently spent 27 hours going back and forth on the support chat, being passed between agents because they were incompetent.

Also, beware that if you transfer to a new tutor and it's a lower cost, the system doesn't add to your balance as it should. I ended up having to use customer service who then credited me the 2 additional lessons I was due.

The platform is complete and easy for teaching with the board, the notes, chat, vocabulary. Very well organised. The app is also really useful to check the agenda, send messages to students or organise lessons.

No issues with receiving payments, have gotten students pretty much straight away, and the platform works well.
Support are friendly and helpful, although sometimes you have to explain things more than once.

Some people complain about the commission structure. Sure, I'd prefer if I got paid 100% of my fees whilst still receiving free advertising, a payment system trusted by both me and my students, a platform to do lessons from, the ability to enforce payment from students who don't show up or who cancel last minute, etc etc.
But since I don't expect something for nothing, I'm not complaining!

Honestly, teaching on preply has been a great experience from top to bottom. The way the platform is made is simply great. You don't need to figure a complicated way to reach out to students or crazy waiting time to know your schedule. It's all there. The virtual classroom is very well set up and the payment system is quick and efficient. The best part about it, without a doubt, is that you are 100% independent, you do what you want, how you want it. I would highly recommend to anyone who is hesitant about tutoring. Preply truly is the best platform to get your tutoring career going.

Overall Preply is a good platform for tutors as you can get in touch with students from over the world.

The whiteboard is well thought out with plenty of options to make teaching easier.

My first downside is that if you're only getting started on the platform, it encourages you to set your price per 50 minutes to $9 (of course you don't have to comply but you might not get as many requests from students) which is nowhere near the minimum wage where I live. So it's about building your profile and complying with the algorithm to have a chance to make a living out of it in the long run (or you can work 40+ hours a week which might not be an option if you have young children).

My second downside is that you aren't paid for the trial lesson. I'd be ok with it if it were free for the students, which isn't the case.

Total waste of time. The customer service and response from being overcharged, charged for lessons we didn't have and cancelling our paid for lessons, is nothing short of what we think, Robert.

Good afternoon, the library has lots of topics you can choose from. There is lots of content for every level from A1 to C2. I find that the paragraph with the missing words very useful, because this helps the student to understand and think about the words that are missing. The platform is very simple to understand.

It's a great company and platform, they teach you how to teach, hot to succeed, and you set your price but they recommend people that look for a higher price that's cool.

I am very happy with the tutor we are using but hate the money grabbing app.
My tutor was busy this last week and I was unable to use my 3 remaining lessons which I have paid nearly $100 dollars for and will now lose.
The app charges in advance for lessons and wants to recharge you every 4 weeks and you lose any lessons not used in this time period and the app makes it hard to schedule lessons by not having up to date information on the tutor .
The app says you can book tutor and then tutor emails and says they are not available, very confusing.
Money grabbing platform run by bots always trying to get you to buy extra lessons which you lose if tutor is not available .
I hate using this rip off automated difficult to use app,

My experience as a tutor on Preply has been fantastic. The platform is easy to use, and it offers great tools to help both teachers and students connect and engage effectively. The students are motivated and eager to learn, which makes teaching enjoyable. Preply also provides helpful resources to enhance my lessons and improve my teaching techniques. The communication and support from the Preply team have been excellent as well. One area for improvement might be providing more opportunities for tutor collaboration or community-building. Preply is an outstanding online platform for both students, keen to learn a new language, and tutors keen to impart with knowledge, alike. As a tutor, I have had the pleasure of meeting the most amazing students who are looking to improve their English with a native speaker. I have formed long-lasting relationships and have received incredible support from Preply along the way both in terms of teacher training and help with managing my busy calendar. I have been trying for 2 years to sign up unsuccessfully. I shoot from any! Angle possible and there's nothing left to record as tried all. The customer service didn't do anything and the link over YouTube didn't work either.

Besides you can teach only as a native, and they force in the sign up to do so, however, I paid 10 k and have 15 years study and teaching experience and I should neglect my other languages just because they want only natives. Not fair .

I have never ever see a company always dealing the intro video and I worked with 20 more firms online and they all accepted my intro video.
I tried 2 years ago and now again all angles all what they said.
