Don’t let the name fool you – “Aging Matters,” our weekly radio show that airs on WPTF, provides content for everyone. After all, we’re all aging! And we all can benefit from topics related to our current and future situations. Our family members no longer resign themselves to the “old folks’ home,” caregivers are younger and younger as they support their children and parents, and finances? Never a topic to be taken lightly.

“I love the double meaning of the show’s title. Not only do we recognize that the act of aging “matters” to us all, but there are so many “matters” of aging we need to learn about and apply to ourselves and our loved ones,” notes Transitions LifeCare’s Darcy Dye Bowers. “Recently, we’ve expanded our content themes beyond needs specific to our community’s seniors. We realize our listeners can benefit not only for themselves, but also for those they care for.”

Aging Matters airs at 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays, but with web access, you can listen to any show at any convenient time.

Hosted by Transitions LifeCare’s Mary Lucas and Sam Peterson, the show also includes Curtis Media’s Jason Kong, producer extraordinaire. Each week, regional and national experts join in to cover topics that are relevant to adults, no matter their age.

This summer’s topics include men’s health, caregiver resources, menopause, brain health, mental health, as well as tips for fall prevention. Look for shows on meditation and well-being; Medicare and Medicare Advantage open enrollment; and grief care during the holidays airing this fall.
