Information We Collect. We may collect information that you voluntarily provide to us, such as your email address if you sign up for a mailing list, your donation history, or the registration information you provide to us when you sign up to use any of our services that require registration and login (“Sign-in Services”). We may also collect certain information automatically, such as the specific pages you visit and actions you take while visiting our sites or using our services, the date and time of access, the IP address from which you are connecting to the internet, and the browser software and operating system you are using. Our sites and services may also contain web beacons and may store small text files (“cookies”) on your device. We also use various advertising and analytics tools to collect and process data, as described in our cookie administration tool, and such tools may use your data for their own purposes as described in their privacy policies.
How We Use Information. We use collected information to operate and improve our sites and our services, to develop new programs, to understand and analyze aggregated metrics, such as the number of visitors or page views, to provide information and services to you or otherwise communicate with you, to solicit and process donations, to advertise products or services, and in any other manner described to you when the information is collected, or to which you give your consent.
How We Disclose Information. We may disclose aggregated and non-personal information (such as the number of visitors to our sites) for any purpose. We may also disclose your personal information (i) as we reasonably believe is required by law or judicial process, or to otherwise cooperate with law enforcement or other government agencies, (ii) to protect the safety, rights, or property of ourselves or others, (iii) to protect ourselves or others from legal liability or from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity, (iv) to investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations, and (v) to protect the security of our sites and the services. We may also disclose personal information in any manner to which you consent, or to any acquirer of Thorn or Thorn’s assets, such as occurs in a merger, sale of assets, or bankruptcy. Additionally, we may transfer personal information to vendors and service providers to facilitate providing our services to you, for our marketing purposes, to solicit and process donations, and to otherwise communicate with you. These partners are contractually obligated to adhere to confidentiality obligations in a way that is consistent with this privacy policy.
Your Choices. You may adjust your emailing or SMS preferences or unsubscribe from our email or SMS list by clicking the appropriate links in the email or by replying as instructed in the SMS that you receive from us. You may also decline to share information with us, or may use features provided by your device or web browser to delete cookies or block other data collection mechanisms; but in that case, we may be unable to provide some features of our sites or services to you. We do not specifically respond to browser “do not track” features. If you choose to provide additional information about yourself or about third parties during your use of our sites, our services, or the Sign-in Services, you represent that you have the authority to provide such information to Thorn. If you have registered for Sign-in Services, you may choose to delete your Sign-in Services account, after which you will no longer be able to use the Sign-in Services or access the data you have entered in connection with your Sign-in Services account. If you are using Sign-in Services on behalf of your employer or another organization, your employer or organization may also have the right to delete your Sign-in Services account and any associated data. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child under the age of 13 has entered personal information on our sites without your consent, you may alert us at [email protected] and we will take the appropriate steps to delete the information.
Data Security. Although we use safeguards designed to improve security, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot guarantee that the information that you provide to us will not be accessed, viewed, altered, disclosed, or destroyed by unauthorized persons.
International Visitors. Our sites and the Sign-in Services are based in the United States and designed for visitors located in the United States. If you choose to provide information from any other region of the world, please be aware that you are consenting to the transfer of such information both to: (a) the United States, where we have infrastructure or data centers; (b) and externally to our service providers, in both instances for storage and processing so that we can operate and provide the services stated in any applicable Terms of Use and so that we can fix, analyze, and improve our services.
Changes to this Policy. We may modify this privacy policy from time to time, and will make any such revised policy available on our sites. Your continued use of our sites or services after such a change indicates that you have read, understand, and agree to the revised privacy policy.
