Zheng Qinwen advanced to the semi-finals of the WTA Finals in Riyadh with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Italian Jasmine Paolini.
Olympic champion Zheng needed just 67 minutes to beat Paolini for her 30th win from her last 35 matches of what has been a breakthrough season.
The 22-year-old became the first Chinese player since Li Na in 2013 to make it out of the group stage at the WTA Finals.
"I'm really proud I could make it. I didn't know what to expect. I was in a very difficult group" said Zheng.
