Tim Walz's daughter Hope doesn’t need to worry about canceling out her dad’s vote. After all, the 23-year-old social worker’s father is the Democratic VP nominee.

“My dad is literally running for Vice President to protect the rights of women and girls, tackle climate change, lower costs for families, and make Kamala Harris the next President of the United States,” Walz said in a Tuesday post on Kamala HQ’s TikTok, alongside a photo of her as a baby sitting on her dad’s shoulders.

Walz is getting in on a recent TikTok trend where Gen Z users joke that they’re going to the polls to “cancel out” the votes of their loved ones with different political views, like their parents and even their partners. In some of the videos, boyfriends and girlfriends or family members film themselves walking to the polls together.

Election Day is less than a week away, and early voting is underway in many states. Polls show a super close race between Harris and Donald Trump. Harris has a major advantage with the youth vote, leading Trump by more than 31% in a recent Harvard Institute of Politics Youth Poll of likely voters aged 18 to 29. But young women are much more likely to align with Harris than their male peers.

In the months since Harris entered the race, Walz has joined her parents on the campaign trail, making stops with her mom, Gwen, on the Repro Freedom Bus tour, and cheering her dad on at the Democratic National Convention.
