The above stable major versions contain minor versions that have varying levels of stability. Please see the Longhorn Releases page to determine release version stability before upgrading.

Support Policy: A minimum of 2 years from date of release of major (e.g. 5.0) or minor versions (e.g. 5.1). If releases occur less frequently than every 18 months for major releases, or 12 months for minor releases, the support timeframe may be extended beyond 2 years at the discretion of SUSE. Critical bug fixes and security patches are back ported to previous releases (which are still supported) by customer request.

End of Life (EOL): Once a product release reaches its End of Life date, the customer may continue to use the product within the terms of product licensing agreement. However, no further code-level maintenance will be provided.

SUSE Enterprise Storage 5.5 is a maintenance update of SUSE Enterprise Storage 5. The currently supported version is 5.5.

As an accommodation for customers wanting to upgrade directly to the upcoming refresh of SUSE Enterprise Storage 7 and thus avoid one intermediate update, the SES 6 lifecycle is extended to the 30th of May, 2022. We currently anticipate that release to be on March 15th. Should the date of the release be delayed, the 2 months grace period automatically adjusts. An earlier release will not move the grace period date.

SUSE Liberty Linux subscriptions include SUSE Linux Enterprise Server support for the term of the subscription and support for certain versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux currently in Red Hat Production Phase until product end of life per official policies posted by Red Hat.

SUSE Liberty Linux replaces SUSE Linux Enterprise Server with Expanded Support and provides all the underlying deliverables.

Generally supported versions are Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and 9.
For each major version, only the latest minor release is fully supported.

CentOS Stream is not supported in SUSE Liberty Linux.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications includes Extended Service Pack Overlay Support (ESPOS). This provides an additional 3 years of support for each SP following the end of general support. Combined with the standard 6 months overlay, it offers a total of 3.5 years of overlay support after the launch of the next Service Pack.

The last service pack of a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications major release has a separate lifecycle without ESPOS as there is no overlap with the next service pack. Customers have the option to receive an extended 3 years of support for this final service pack through Long Term Service Pack Support (LTSS), which is available at an additional cost.
