advance.
 Engineers design and build engines, machines, roads. Bridges, process plants,
refineries etc
 Engineers are also trained to repair and control.
 An engineer can be electrical, structural, civil, mechanical, electronic, Petroleum,
software, chemical, agricultural, metallurgical, materials etc.
Introduction: The Many Kinds of Engineering

 Structural Engineering – Ensures buildings, buildings and anything erected are safe and
can withstand environment for years

 Chemical Engineers – Develop new processes, plastics, polymer materials, coatings,

building materials, cleaning products etc
 Design Engineers
 Manufacturing Engineers
 R and D Engineers
 Engineering has been the main reason for our comfortable living
Engineering: Why did you choose it?

 Perception of a good career and that you have skills suited for it.
 Misconceptions- Underestimating;
 report writing
 Communication
 Negotiation
 Amount of responsibility
