BASIC SCOPE OF ENVIRONMENT
STUDIES
1. NATURAL RESORCE MANAGEMENT AND CONSERVATION- ways in which societies manage
the supply of or access to the natural resources upon which they rely for their survival and development.
Insofar as humans are fundamentally dependent on natural resources, ensuring the ongoing access to or a
steady provision of natural resources has always been central to the organization of civilizations.
2. ECOLOGY AND BIODIVERSITY- Biodiversity describes the richness and variety of life on earth. It is
the most complex and important feature of our planet. Without biodiversity, life would not sustain. Biodiversity
holds ecological and economic significance. It provides us with nourishment, housing, fuel, clothing and several
other resources.
