Introduction

• This project’s name is the Appointment-making system. This system will replace manual appointment-
making and tracking methods with an automated and user-friendly solution, reducing errors and saving
time. This is a desktop-based application project developed in PHP, HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, etc. using
Xampp MySQL Database. This application provides an appointment-making and Management platform
for Smile Dental Clinic. This can also help the clinic to easily store, retrieve, and manage
their customer’s data. It also consists of user-friendly features. This appointment-making system can be
accessed by 2 different types of user roles. The user roles are the Admin and Patient users. Both users
must log in to the system to gain access to the features and functionalities of the system.
• The Admin Role has the privilege to access and manage all of the important data in the system. They
are the ones who are in charge of managing the list of Appointments, and Patients details. They are
the only ones who can have access to the customer’s data.
• The customer’s Role has limited permission only to the system. They can only Log In/Log Out for
making an appointment.
Project Objectives

• The primary objectives of this project are as follows:


 The ability to make appointments more effectively and efficiently: An online appointment scheduling
system can help you to better manage your appointments by providing you with a central place to view
and track all of your appointments.
 The ability to provide your customers with a more convenient way to schedule appointments:
Customers will often appreciate being able to book appointments online, as it can save them time and
effort.
 Improved customer satisfaction: By providing a more convenient way to schedule the appointment.
 Real-time Data: Implement real-time appointment-making and reporting capabilities to enable managers
to make informed decisions promptly.
SCOPE OF PROJECT
• The project encompasses the following:
 Design: Creating a user-friendly interface for appointment making.
 Development: Building the software with features such as appointment-making, doctor’s
dashboards, and management.
 Integration: Connecting the system with the organization's print system.
 Scalability: Ensuring the system can accommodate the organization's current and future
workforce needs.
EXISTING SYSTEM
• The clinic uses a single-user system application to book an appointment. The important and the most
significant drawback is that the system is done in Excel sheets or in a written format. There is no
proper application exists. There are errors due to carelessness that may result in data loss to the
organization. However, the customer information is stored in Excel sheets which makes it impossible
to search for the clinic information in such a long table and to add a query if a search query is not
available.
 Its main disadvantage is updating is not available.
 Appointment information is not updated properly.
 Data retrieval is very difficult.
 Time conception an inefficient.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
• The proposed system is to eliminate all the drawbacks of the existing system. The Admin System is
responsible for maintaining information about Patient’s information, Appointment, and
Administration.
 It’s desktop-based so that information is available anytime.
 It is user-friendly.
 Speed and Accuracy are increased.
 It is platform-independent.
 Duplication of information will not occur.
 Admin as well as patients can easily get information and appointment details.

• Processor: Dual-core
• RAM: 8GB
• Platform: Windows 10
• Front-end: Visual Studio, PHP, HTML, CSS
• Back-end: Xampp Server, MyAdmin

FEASIBILITY STUDY
 Technical Feasibility:
• System Requirements: Determine the hardware and software requirements for the appointment
making. Ensure that the organization has access to or can acquire the necessary technology.
• Technical Expertise: Evaluate whether the organization has or can hire the technical expertise
required for system design, development, and maintenance.
• Data Security: Examine the feasibility of implementing robust data security measures to protect
sensitive patient information.
Scalability: Ensure that the system can handle the organization's current and future workforce needs.
 Economic Feasibility:
Cost-Benefit Analysis: Calculate the total cost of the project, including development, implementation, and
maintenance costs. Compare this with the expected benefits, such as cost savings from reduced manual work
and error reduction.
Budget Constraints: Ensure that the organization has the financial resources to fund the project. Explore
funding options if necessary.
 Operational Feasibility:
User Acceptance: Analyse whether customers and management are likely to accept and use the system.
Conduct surveys or interviews to gauge user expectations and concerns.
Training Needs: Identify the training requirements for employees and administrators to effectively use the
appointment system.
Change Management: Develop a change management plan to address potential resistance to the new
system and ensure a smooth transition.

• In summary, the Employee Appointment-making system project has successfully transformed our
appointment management, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. It has empowered
Patients and doctors with real-time data, enhancing organizational effectiveness. The project's
feasibility has been proven, and ongoing maintenance will sustain its benefits. This system is a
valuable asset for our clinic, optimizing our appointment management and contributing to
operational excellence.
FUTURE ENHANCEMENT
• The Proposed system is Smile Dental Clinic. We can enhance this system
by including more facilities like a pharmacy for the stock details of
medicines in the clinic.
• We Can also add the online payment option for a hassle-free payment for
the patient while they make an appointment.
• Providing such features enables the users to include more comments in
the system and have a better experience of the services we provide.
