COMPUTER CONTROL

DEVICES
In this I will give information about
computer control devices like what is
this and where it will use other thing.
What is computer controlled device

A computer controlled device

accepts physical inputs from
external source and pairs this
information with computer
controlled instructions to perform
specific function.
Where computer controlled devices will
be use
Motion detectors have sensors that detect
movement and send a signal to a
sound device that produces a sound alarm.
There are motion detectors that employ
cameras to capture images and send
them to a computer. Such sensors are used in
banks, shopping malls .
 Security systems and burglar alarms.
 Manufacturing processes.
 Traffic lights and pedestrian crossings.
A computer-controlled greenhouse

 To get the best plant growing conditions, the temperature and

humidity (moisture in the air) have to be controlled.
 The greenhouse therefore has temperature and humidity
 Sensors linked to a computer, and the computer has a control
 Program storing details of the correct temperature and humidity
settings. The greenhouse is fitted with a heater, sprinkler and
window motor which are also linked to the computer.
 If the humidity falls below the values stored in the program, the
computer activates the sprinklers and closes the windows. If the
temperature falls outside the values stored in the program, the
heater is activated by the computer.
 The system monitors the conditions all day and night and
responds immediately to any changes. To alter the growing
condition the values in the computer program can of course be
changed.

Sensor
A sensor is a device that receives signal or
stimulus (e.g. voltage, heat, pressure,
radiation, sound waves, humidity etc.) and
responds to it in a distinctive manner.
The sensors find its utility at variety of
machines/devices like bar code scanners,
weighing machines, escalators, automatic
flush, ATM, robots.etc

Automatic teller machine
An Automated Teller Machine (ATM) is a
computer controlled machine designed for
financial transactions without going to the
bank.
The ATM is connected to the bank database
through a computer controlled system that has
capability to perform transactions based upon
the information that is provided by the
customer through its banking card (debit/
credit card).

Robot
A robot is a computer controlled device
programmed to move, manipulate objects, and
accomplish work while interacting with its
environment.
The robot, in its most basic form, contains
sensors, which provide feedback data on the
robotís current situation, and a system to
process this information according to
preprogram instructions so that the next action
can be determined accordingly.
