Warm up: Word memory

Objective:
Upon completion of this activity, students will
be able to recall the vocabulary about family
members they have learnt online.
Warm up: FAMILY MEMBERS

Procedure:
• work in 2 groups.
• Take turns to speak out family member
words without repeating the words.
• The groups with more answers will be the
winner.
Activity 1:

Objective:
Upon completion of this activity, students will be
able to revise the vocabulary of family members
and the family relations.
Activity 1:

Procedure:
• Work in groups of 4
• Make a list of 4 family member words on paper.
• Listen to Teacher's clues to guess the words.
• Put a tick beside the word in the list.
• Say BINGO when all the words are ticked and
become the winner.

Objective:
Upon completion of this activity, students will
be able to ask and answer about family
members and draw family trees.
Activity 2: Family tree

Procedure:
• Work in pairs.
• Write down family members’ names only.
• Take turns to ask about the relationships and
draw your partner’s family tree.
• Show your drawing of your partner’s family
tree, and report the family membership
among people in his/her family to the class.

tree. There are five people in his family, and
here is his father. His name is Peter. His
mother is Jerry. Bob and Mary are his brother

• Ask and answer about your families
basing on the following questions.

Activity 4: Role play

Objective:
Upon completion of this activity, students will
be able to talk about their family.
Activity 4: Family member
introduction
Procedure:
• Work in groups.
• Act as members of the families (each group plays
the role of a family as a whole).
• Take turns within each group to introduce yourself
(name, age, nationality, job, hobbies, …), then
introduce another member to continue. Keep
going on until the last member in your family.
• Act on the stage to introduce your families to the
class.
• Sample:

A: Hello, everybody! This is my happy family.
My name is Anna. I am twenty years old. I am
American. I am a singer. I sing English and
Vietnamese songs. This is my grandfather.

They both work at a local company in my
hometown. My brother is a student, and his
name is Phong. He is fifteen years old. That’s
