What are correlative conjunctions?

We use 2 correlative conjunction to link two


words or two phrases of equal values from two
sentences to form one sentences.

Either…or For positive


statements
Neither…nor For negative
statement
EXAMPLE 1

I like chicken
POSITIVE STATEMENT
I like fish

So we use either…or to combine the sentences

I LIKE EITHER CHICKEN OR FISH.


EXAMPLE 2

I do not like chicken


NEGATIVE STATEMENT
I do not like fish

So we use neither…nor to join the sentences

I LIKE NEITHER CHICKEN NOR FISH.


We use either…or for something positive
and neither…nor for something negative.
