PD 1586 - Environmental Impact
Statement (EIS) of 1978
to facilitate the attainment and maintenance of a
rational and orderly balance between socio-
economic development and environmental
protection

EIS is a planning and management tool that will help


the government, decision-makers, the proponents
and the affected community address the negative
consequences or risks to the environment
RA 6968- Toxic Substances And
Hazardous Waste Management Act
The law aims to regulate restrict or
prohibit the importation, manufacture,
processing, sale, distribution, use and
disposal of chemical substances and
mixtures that present unreasonable risk to
human health.
RA 8749- Philippine Clean Air Act
Of 1999
It is a comprehensive air quality management
policy and program, which aims to achieve and
maintain healthy air for Filipinos and meets the
National Air Quality guideline values for criteria
pollutants, throughout the Philippines, while
minimizing the possible associated impacts on
the economy.

of 1999
Its guiding principles are the following:
1.) Promote and protect the global environment while
recognizing the primary responsibility of Local Government
Units to deal with environmental problems;

2.) Recognize that the responsibility of cleaning the


habitat and environment is primarily are- based; and

3.) Recognize that a clean and healthy environment is for


the good of all and should therefore be the concern of all.
RA 9725- Philippine Clean Water Act
of 2004

An act providing comprehensive water quality


management and for other purposes.

An act provides for the abatement and control


of pollution from land-based sources and lays
down water quality standards and regulations.
RA 9003- Ecological Solid Waste
Management Act
The law aims to adopt a systematic,
comprehensive, and ecological solid waste
management program that shall ensure the
protection of public health and the environment.

The law ensures proper segregation, collection,


storage, treatment, and disposal of solid waste
through the formulation and adaptation of the
best eco-waste products.
RA 9512- Environmental Awareness
And Education Act Of 2009

This policy mandates that environmental


education be integrated into school curricula at
all levels and that students are provided with a
core curricular foundation in environmental
issues and laws, the state of international and
local environmental policy, citizens'
responsibilities to participate in environmental
behavior, and sustainable development.
