4007ES Enhancements Overview

This 4007ES enhancements launch includes the following:

• 4007ES Network Card - functions on a 4100ES network with or without other ES family
panels (full peer-to-peer operation).
• A re-packaged network card to mount in a 4007ES
• 4007ES suppression listings
• 4007ES RS-232 Card

4007ES Enhancements
Network Overview
4007ES Network Node

Before the launch of 4007ES network cards:

• The 4010ES was the lowest capacity

network node in the portfolio
• This caused competitive issues in the
outlying buildings at university campuses
where only a small number of points was
required
• The 4007ES panel is more competitive in
those situations
• The cost of the Network Interface Card
(NIC) for a 4007ES is priced 5% less than
the equivalent 4010ES Network Interface
Card, further increasing our
competitiveness.

7
4007ES Networking

Networking the 4007ES does not limit any of the capacities of

the 4007ES. The panel is still able to support:

 100-250 Addressable
Point capacity
 Expansion from 8 to 32
Conventional Zones
(important for 4002
retrofits)
 All optional modules
including the network
card

• The network card fits in either the Hybrid or the IDNAC panel and functions the same way in
either panel
8
4007ES Networking

• The 4007ES uses the same programmer as the current ES network panels
• The 4007 ES provides full peer to peer networking:
 100 point limit on the number of points that can be made external
 Provides network synchronization of notification appliances
 Can act as the time keeper when required
 Is able to make all points public to an NDU, TSW or any other network node capable of
supporting external points

9
Accelerates Product Obsolescence
• There is currently no drop-in alternative for a 4002 on a 4120 or 2120 Network
• The 4007ES Network Node will serve as a drop-in solution for 4002 Standalone and 4120
Network Panels

4002 4007ES

• Conventional 32-zone panel • Addressable panel with conventional 32-zone

• 2120 Network compatible capability
• 4120 Network compatible • 250 addressable point capacity
• ESP programming • 4120 Network compatible
• ES programming

Network Hardware: Installation with SDACT
Module
New SDACT Mounting Bracket is Required with Fiber Media Module

If the system has a Network Interface Card with a Fiber Media Module AND an
SDACT, a new bracket is required to allow space for fiber patch cords.

The angled bracket

The new SDACT bracket (Part No. may be used for
650-1838, ordered separately) mounts copper media
the SDACT flat, closer to the back module mounted
of the box, allowing more space in over Block G or if
the box for media modules the system has no

Copper Media: The Network Card may be oriented so the copper wire media module is either over

45
Network Hardware: Installation with Fiber Media
Modules

With fiber-optic media, the orientation

of the Network Card is restricted. Fiber-
optic media cards MUST BE mounted
over Block H due to patch cord bend
radius requirements.
