Sample Problem 1:
A department store is giving sales discount on selected
items. How much would you pay for a pair of shoes
whose original price is ₱1,350 with a 20% discount?

Solution:

 
Therefore, you would pay ₱1, 080 only.

Sample Problem 2:
Sonia baked 5 dozens of cupcakes which cost her a total
of ₱2, 675. How much should she sell each cupcake if
she wants to get a 25% profit?

Solution:

 
Therefore, you would pay ₱1, 080 only.

The total sales inclusive of the 25% profit must be ₱3, 343.75.
To determine the price of each cupcake, divide the total sales by
60 (equivalent to 5 dozens)
 
Therefore, you would pay ₱1, 080 only.

Therefore, the selling price of each cupcake should be ₱55.75.


Sample Problem 3:
If the total amount due in a CEPALCO bill is ₱2,612.35,
show the computation of the breakdown of charges
reflected in the bill(verify the given percentages in the
breakdown).
