Scenario 1: Increasing Staff to Complete the
First Phase – An Overview
• All 650 MRG HPI employees must be considered for new work opportunities before being terminated • New employees to be hired to support the existing workloads • Fort short duration project, term hires must be considered or the use of a consultant or sub contractor • Addition of new position requires written approval from Project Manager, Branch Chief, the Vice President of the TSD, the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Financial Officer and the Vice President of Human Resources • Hiring of sub contractor required written approval from Project Manager, Branch Chief, the Vice President of TSD, the Vice President of Contracts, the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Financial Officer and the Vice President of Human Resources • Staff reassignments require written approval from the Branch Chief, the Vice President of the TSD, the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President of Human Resources and the Chief Executive Officer. Issues faced by TSD in Scenario 1 • Hiring of New Employees • The recruitment process of new employees via consultant or sub contractor • Employees to handle the existing workloads • Co-ordination for getting the written approval for addition of new positions, hiring of sub contractors and staff reassignments • Training of the new employees • Recruitment of employees for short term duration Solutions for the Issues faced in Scenario 1 • Internal Recruitment via Job Posting - announce a job opening was to post notice of the job on the HR bulletin board or send e-mails to all employees about the new job opportunity • Employee Referrals - Current employees can play an important role in recruiting new employees, and some organizations pay a bonus to employees for successful referrals • External Recruitment – Tie up with Recruitment Agencies, walk in interviews, advertise the open position in local newspapers, trade journals, radio and television • Short duration projects – via consultant or sub contractor • New position to be recruited – Training Officer, Data Privacy Officer, Application Testing Team, Sales and Promotion Team • First we have to select the employees from internal positions • As there are chances of having short term project duration, we can hire interns as well and based on their performance, we can provide them with pre placement offer • No existing employees should be terminated without prior information
