Kabul is the capital and largest city of Afghanistan, located in the eastern section of the
country. According to estimates in 2020, the population of Kabul is 4.222 million,
which includes all the major ethnic groups of Afghanistan.
Kabul is located high up in a narrow valley between the Hindu Kush mountains, with an
elevation of 1,790 meters (5,873 ft.) making it one of the highest capitals in the world.
The city is said to be over 3,500 years old, Located at crossroads in Asia - roughly halfway
between Istanbul in the west and Hanoi in the east - it is in a strategic location along
the trade routes of South and Central Asia, and a key location of the ancient Silk Road.

Abdurrahman Mosque

The Abdul Rahman Mosque also known as the Grand Mosque of


Kabul, is one of the largest mosques in Afghanistan. It is located in
one of Kabul's central commercial areas called Deh Afghanan,
near the Pashtunistan Square, Zarnegar Park, and across the once
popular Plaza Hotel. The building is three stories high, built on 3.5
acres of land. One floor of the building is dedicated to women only.
The mosque has the capacity to serve 10,000 people at a time.
There is also a madrasa inside the mosque and a library containing
150,000 books. The major work on the mosque was completed in
late 2009 but the official inauguration took place in July 2012
which was attended by the former Afghan President Hamid Karzai
and many other high-ranking officials.
ARG
The Arg serves as the presidential palace in Kabul, Afghanistan.
It sits on a 34-hectare (83-acre) site in District 2, between Deh
Afghanan and the affluent neighborhood of Wazir Akbar Khan.
The Arg was built after the destruction of the Bala Hissar in
1880 by the British Indian troops.
It has been used by many Afghan kings and presidents, from
Emir Abdur Rahman Khan to current President Ashraf Ghani.
Bagh - e - Babar
The Garden of Babur is a historic park in Kabul, Afghanistan,
and also the final resting-place of the first Mughal emperor
Babur. The garden is thought to have been developed around
1528 AD (935 AH) when Babur gave orders for the construction
of an "avenue garden" in Kabul, described in some detail in his
memoirs, the Baburnama. It was the tradition of Mughal princes
to develop sites for recreation and pleasure during their lifetime,
and choose one of these as a last resting-place.
Darul Aman Palace
Darul Aman Palace abode of peace" or, in a double meaning
abode of Amanullah is a palace located about 16 kilometers
(9.9 mi) south-west outside of the center of Kabul, Afghanistan.
It sits directly across from the Afghan Parliament, and is close to
the National Museum of Afghanistan and the American
University of Afghanistan. In 2019, the palace was fully
renovated for the 100th year of Afghan Independence, which
was on the 19th of August, 2019.
Kabul Zoo
It was inaugurated in 1967 with a focus on Afghan fauna, being
very popular with visitors and press. The zoo once had more
than 500 animals, with about 150,000 visitors coming to see
them in 1972.
National Museum of Afghanistan
The first museum in Afghanistan was established in 1919 at the
Bagh-i-Bala palace overlooking Kabul, and consisted of
manuscripts, miniatures, weapons and art objects belonging to
the former royal families.
A few years later the collection was moved to the king's palace
in the center of the city and in 1931 it was officially installed in
the present building, which had served as the Municipality.
The original collection was dramatically enriched, beginning in
1922.
Habibullah Zazai Park
Habibullah Zazai Park is the largest recently established
amusement park in Kabul. It sits on a hillside and provides large
walking space with great views of the city. Another such park is
called the City Park, which is much smaller.
Kandaha

Kandahar is a city in Afghanistan, located in the south of the


country on the Arghandab River,Kandahar is one of the most culturally
significant cities of the Pashtuns and has been their traditional seat of power
for more than 300 years.
It is a major trading center for sheep, wool, cotton, silk, felt,
food grains, fresh and dried fruit, and tobacco. The region produces fine
fruits, especially pomegranates and grapes, and the city has plants for
canning, drying, and packing fruit, and is a major source of marijuana and
hashish.
Herat
Herat is the third-largest city of Afghanistan. It has a population of
about 436,300,and serves as the capital of Herat Province, situated in
the fertile valley of the Hari River in the western part of the country. It
is linked with Kandahar, Kabul, and Mazar-i-Sharif via Highway 1 or
the ring road. It is further linked to the city of Mashhad in neighboring
Iran through the border town of Islam Qala, and to Mary in
Turkmenistan to the north through the border town of Torghundi.
Herat dates back to Avestan times and was traditionally known for its
wine. The city has a number of historic sites, including the Herat
Citadel and the Musakalla Complex.
Bamiyan
Bamyan is the capital of Bamyan Province in central
Afghanistan. With an altitude of about 2,550 m and a
population of about 100,000 (in 2014),
Bamyan is the largest town in the central Afghanistan region of
HazarajatThe Bamiyan valley marked the most westerly point of
Buddhist expansion and was a crucial hub of trade for much of
the second millennium CE. It was a place where East met West
and its archaeology reveals a blend of Greek, Turkic, Persian,
Chinese and Indian influence. The valley is one of Afghanistan's
most touristic places.
Balkh (Mazar - e –
Sharif)
Balkh is a town in the Balkh Province of Afghanistan, about 20 km (12 mi)
northwest of the provincial capital, Mazar-e Sharif, and some 74 km
(46 mi) south of the Amu Darya river and the Uzbekistan border. It was
historically an ancient centre of Buddhism, Islam, and Zoroastrianism and
one of the major cities of Khorasan, since the latter's earliest history.
The ancient city of Balkh was known to the Ancient Greeks as Bactra,
giving its name to Bactria. It was mostly known as the center and capital of
Bactria or Tokharistan.
Nooristan
Nuristan, also spelled Nurestan or Nooristan, is one of the 34 provinces of
Afghanistan, located in the eastern part of the country.
It is divided into seven districts and is Afghanistan's least populous province,
with a population of about 140,900, Parun serves as the provincial capital.
Nuristan is bordered on the south by Laghman and Kunar provinces, on the
north by Badakhshan province, on the west by Panjshir province, and on the
east by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
It was formerly known as Kafiristan
