SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS
SITE BACKGROUND:
Buagsong is a very small but prestige barangay in the Municipality
of Cordova. The Barangay has an area of 681, 859 square meters. In
the years the '80s and 90's only a few had acquired title deed of
their land property in this barangay. People in the barangay have
been influenced by the Spaniards and American tradition and
culture. The barangay had already adopted the influenced from the
Spaniards tradition on having a fiesta, this is the reason why the
Barangay has an annual fiesta with a lot of activities during its
fiesta and the highlight of the activity is Retreat. "The Bayle" with a
numerous number of visitors from other barangays and even
political persons from the province of Cebu and Lapu-Lapu City.

Barangay Buagsong is well-known due to its mangroves


and especially the Entoy`s Bakasahihan. Most foreign people
visited this place, especially the Bakasihan. Mostly, lots of
tourists went every Saturday and Sundays. Their tourism
industry is now growing. Buagsong marine habitat lies a
haven of peace and natural wonder. The site of ten different
species of mangroves. And also the Buagsong seashore that
all of us loved its natural wonders especially during sunset. It
coupled with the refreshing sea breeze that can surely take
everyone to deep serenity. Through its beautiful, wonderful
and interesting place where all of us captured our attention.
D. SWOT ANALYSIS

STRENGTH
 Well known Bakasihan of Cordova.

 Exploring the town of Cordova won`t really require a guide since it is quite small and

limited when it comes to places to visit.


WEAKNESS
 Not properly maintained

 Many street dogs in the area.

 Don’t have Extra facilities

OPPORTUNITIES
 We can add extra facilities to the Bakhaw Paradise.

II. DETAILED RESEARCH

A.Demographic Profile
-The barangay Buagsong population rapidly increasing as of 2019 it reaches
approximately at 3,500.
 
b. Existing Resources
Entoy`s Bakasihan
Entoy`s bakasihan is famous and well known destination in barangay Buagsong. It is
said that the bakasi on here is delicious that`s why people tend to visit and come
regularly to taste the bakasi itself.
 
Bakhaw Paradise
The newly discovered bakhaw paradise is one of the most interesting part of the
barangay because nowadays people come and go as they want to discover the new
attractions. They want to experience how beautiful and stress free it is.

c. Existing Activities
They can do activities like running to exercise to be healthy.
And also sightseeing to reduce their stress. They can also
do picture taking so they can make memorable moments.
And also Bonding to strengthen their bond with each other.
 
d. Existing Facilities
The existing facilities in the barangay Buagsong is Cordova
Home Village. One of the most visited resort in Cordova. It
can accommodate only a few numbers of tourists by room
but it can accommodate a huge number of guests at
daytime. They can go swimming and touring around the
area. They can also taste how delicious the foods that they
serve to their guests.
III. SYNTHESIS
a. Finding and Observation
We found out that Barangay Buagsong is a good place to stay because
people are nice to the tourists who went by. As we go along the place
we saw one of the most visited bakasihan in Cordova. Since the new
discover paradise the place itself has became a well known and visited
place in barangay. We must be in today of what is new discoveries and
we want to be the first to go or visit in that place.
b. Conclusion
Indeed, it was not easy for us to cover this kind of business proposal.
We need to find a lot of time to do this. However we are hoping that
the barangay chairman and it`s official will recognize and take time to
read this. This is not just for our grades but also this is for their own
good. It will affect in their tourism industry and the income will grow
rapidly. This is for their own good; we want to help their barangay by
giving this kind of proposal to maintain their economic state.

1. To increase the income of the citizen living near the area.
2. To provide the unemployed citizens a livelihood.
b. Development and Strategies
About our proposal, we come up with this because we want to
improve the growing tourism in Barangay Buagsong and to maintain
their economic state. To develop this newly discovered bakhawan
paradise will help the unemployed rate to decrease. By promoting this
proposal will have a huge impact on their tourism industry.
V. Proposed Development Plan
a. Product and Services
We offered a low entrance fee. A safer place where the
guest can roaming around. A place was far from
pollution and has a sea breeze where you can enjoy the
site. This place is not just for fun but also for them to
know and learn about our beautiful place.
b. Marketing and Promotion
To market this bakhawan paradise we need to get
a partnership through agencies, hotels, restaurants,
resort to promote it we also use flyers, tarpaulin,
brochures. And we also encourage tourists to visit this
place if they want to experience something new.
c. Management
The Barangay officials were the ones who will manage
the bakhawan paradise. They can also hire unemployed
people to help maintain cleanliness and security in this
place.
d. Government and Local Community/Participation
We also want to help our local community by giving
them a job to our product. It is our pride that all the staff
that we well hire are from our local community. If we
do bring on employees there will be extensive training
required to ensure that our product quality and customer
service are always consistent.

Site Background:
Bang-bang is one of the most-visited parts of
Cordova and one of the barangays of it. The place
is located in the western part of Cordova. The
place itself has a lot of mangroves which was one
of the reasons why people went to visit the place.
It is also a good fishing community for the people
who live in this place because Bang-bang is
surrounded by the sea itself.

Barangay Bang-bang is well-known due to its


mangroves and especially the Villa Asella Garden
Resort and Spa. It is said that one of the incomes in
Bangbang is the resort. Tourist comes and goes every
day which was the reason why there are people build
their own sari-sari store alongside the resort. Also,
the Grand Mall in Cordova has a big impact on their
lives. Because it is said that most of the employees
are the people living in that certain barangay. The
total percentage rate of the employee in Bang-bang
growing rapidly because they are the main priority.

II. DETAILED RESEARCH

. Demographic Profile
-The population of Cordova increasing rapidly upon constructing
and building the mall because they have lots of employees. As
of now, the population is approximately 7,500.
b. Existing Resources
Villa Asella Garden Resort and Spa
When the villa asella garden resort and spa build it is one of the
most visited resorts in Cordova. It has three swimming pools.
One for the midget, one for the teenagers who ranged at the age
of 13-17 and the third one is for the adult 18 years and older.
They also accommodate special events like weddings,
baptismal, reunion, parties and many more. The entrance is
only P 75.00 and you can enjoy swimming all day.
Gaisano Grand Mall
Gaisano Grand Mall Cordova is the only mall in Cordova which is located
at the barangay Bang-bang. Because of this the barangay can generate
income in many ways. They also prioritize the people living in that
certain area. Mostly of the employee are the residents in Barangay
Bang-bang.
c. Existing Activities

a mall. However, as we go along in their place there is something
lacking. We came up by our group members that they must have at least
a souvenir shop because the place has a big impact in tourism industry.
III. SYNTHESIS

a. Finding and Observation


We found out that the place has a big impact on our tourism and it can
generate income in many ways. So that’s why we want to build a
souvenir shop inside the Villa Asella Garden Resort and Spa. At least the
tourist can buy something and they can proud to say that they once
visited this kind of place.
 
b. Conclusion
We know that it is not easy to propose a proposal for any kind. But we
hope that the barangay chairman and the resident of Bang-bang must at
least have to look at what is good and what are other ways to have an
income. To build a souvenir shop can help people to be employed and to
have at least a work even in that small thing.

1. To increase the income of the citizen living near the area.

About our proposal, we come up with this because we want to improve
the growing tourism in Barangay Bang-bang. As much as we want to
help, we want also to try new things as other sources of their income. We
also have their SWOT Analysis to have an idea about their barangay.
V. PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT PLAN

a. Product and Services


The products of the souvenir shop are a t-shirt, mugs, bracelets and many more.
Those products who have been known in their area. So that they can preserve it
and they will be known what is Barangay Bang-bang all about.
b. Marketing and Promotion
This can accommodate all kinds of tourists for the prices may vary. We want
to have this because we know it helps a lot of their incomes and to maintain the
number of tourists who visit in their barangay.
c. Management
The Barangay officials were the ones who will manage the souvenir shop. They
can also hire unemployed people to help maintain the area.
d. Government and Local Community/Participation
We also want to help our local community by giving them a job to our product. It
is our pride that all the staff that we well hire is from our local community. If we
do bring on employees there will be extensive training required to ensure that our
product quality and customer service are always consistent.

SITUATION ANALYSIS
Site Background:
Day-as Mangroves – Boardwalk was once a part of Opon, now called Lapu-
Lapu City and it was called Day-as. The eco-tourism efforts of Cordova town on
Mactan Island received a boost with the implementation of the multi million peso
Mangrove Propagation & Information Center at its 273 hectare mangrove area in
Barangay Day-as. The municipality has been chosen as the site of the first
mangrove center in the Visayas by the Metro Pacific Investment Corp. (MPIC)
Foundation under its Shore It Up program. The center completes the nationwide
position of Shore It Up in helping to rescue, restore, and revive the mangroves.
Its first attempt secedes from Mother town Opon was in 1863. Padre Simon
Aguire, the parish priest of Opon at that time, encourage the residents of Day-as
headed by Claudio Dico to send a resolution for the establishment of Day-as as a
Municipality was granted and the new establishment town was name Cordova
derived after a city in Spain. Day-as remained barrio this time it is a part of
Cordova.
LANTAW NATIVE FLOATING RESTAURANTS
The 10,000 Roses Cafe is a tourist attraction and cafe located in
Day-as Cordova Cebu that has grown popular in recent years. It features
two patches of artificial LED roses that light up from dusk till night. In
the contrary, you might think, night time is the prettiest time for the
roses but the worst time for photos. During the night there are lots of
people in the area. This makes it really hard to take good photos. At the
edge of the property is the cafe, and beyond that is already the ocean
with a city view across it.

Casa Rugina Function Hall and Resort


Casa Rugina has a very affordable entrance fee and a family friendly
resort. There are 48,483 people who checked in here and still counting.
They handle different types of social gatherings and weddings. And
they provide the perfect location or environment that creates a program
with entertainment that is always appropriate and tasteful.

Floating Native Restaurant. Most foreign people visited this place, especially the
Korean people. Mostly, lots of tourist went every Saturdays and Sundays. Their
tourism industry is now growing. Day-as marine habitat lies a heaven of peace and
natural wonder. The site of ten different species of mangroves and migratory birds
from Australia, China, and Korea. And also the Day-as seashore that all of us loved its
natural wonders especially during sunset and nighttime. It coupled with the refreshing
sea breeze that can surely take everyone to deep serenity. Through its beautiful,
wonderful and an interesting place where all of us captured our attention. And also
their newest 10,000 Roses Cafe which is located near Lantaw Restaurant, is a LED-
Powered Roses which is currently famous in South Korea, is joining the hype on
social media. The roses,brilliant against dark of the night,dance to the wind and bring
with it a romantic feel and Unwind as you enjoy not only the ambiance but the good
food they serve . hundred of visitors came to see the place over the weekend after
photos of the place circulated around social media. And they have also the Casa
Rugina Function Hall and Resort a place to relax with family and friends.They also
handle everything from business events to weddings and other social gatherings.

II. Detailed Research
a. Demographic Profile
-According to the 2015 Census, the age group with the highest population in
Day-as is 5 to 9, with 448 individuals. Conversely, the age group with the
lowest population is 75-79, with 31 individuals. The population of Day-as
grew from 1,724 in 1990 to 4,241 in 2015, an increase of 2,517 people.
The latest census figures in 2015 denote positive growth rate of 3.08%, or
an increase of 624 people, from the previous population of 3,617 in 2010.

b. Existing Resources
Boardwalk, Lantaw Floating Native Restaurant, 10,000 Roses and Casa
Rugina
When the boardwalk is finished renovating and the 10,000 Roses will be
added more lights and twists, They can gain more income to help the
community and to improve their barangay. The pedicab drivers can also
get their income from it by transporting tourist who wants to visit.
c. Existing Activities

swimming, And also sightseeing to reduce their stress. They can also

The existing facilities in the barangay is the boardwalk, 10,000
roses, Lantaw Native Floating Restaurant and Casa Rugina but sad
to say. The boardwalk has been damaged because there was no one
maintaining it. That’s why we conduct a research on how to maintain
attraction of the area. But The 10,000 Roses still there are few tourist
who visits there but the Lantaw floating restaurant has still many
people who goes there to have their romantic dinner experience. The
Casa Rugina has many guests most specially during weekends.
III. Synthesis
a. Finding and Observation
We found out that Boardwalk is very nice
attraction ,they develop their mangrove into a
boardwalk and it will be known to the tourist. As
we go to their barangay we observed that their
boardwalk is already damage. But they managed
to make another tourist attractions and it is the
10,000 Roses it makes the Day-as Cordova
become popular again.
b. Conclusion
Indeed, it was not easy for us to cover this kind of business proposal.
We need to find a lot of time to do this. Some of us has a conflict in
time, and especially when it comes to schedule availability. We strive
hard to finish this business proposal as much as possible. During our
survey to the local community in the Day-as, we encountered
different types of people but we manage to understand them because
as a future hotelier it is our Job to understand people. But most of them
cooperates especially there barangay officials.
To come up this proposal it really need some time to know all about
Barangay Day-as. And by the help of their barangay officials and other
residence which is very kind and generous in giving us knowledge and
information about their barangay. By making this proposal, we learned
how to sacrifice, cooperate and be matured to ourselves. The hard part
of us is all about the “Costing and Fund”, where not familiar about that.
When money really involves, it is hard for us to budget.

 We come up to this because we want to improve the growing tourism in Barangay
Day-as. As much as we can, this business proposal will show about the trade mark of
Day-as boardwalk. We also have their SWOT Analysis to have an idea about their
barangay. Based on our survey most of resident agree on the rebuilding process about
the boardwalk and the beautification of barangay Day-as.
V. PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT PLAN
a. Product and Services

around. A place where far from pollution and has a sea breeze where you
can enjoy the site. This place is not just for fun but also for them to know
