perspective
Islam has its own preconditions to
appoint a leader. Seeking of
leadership is considered as a
disqualification of the person.
According to the Islamic law,
leaders must not seek leadership;
it must come to them. Moral and
ethical perfection is badly needed
to the selection process of
leaders. Along with personal
qualities, the knowledge of
Islamic principles and Shariah is a
must for the leadership.
Allah said
O ye who believe! You shall not take those who make your religion a mockery and a
game, (ie) among those who have been given the Book before you, and those who
disbelieve (polytheists) as WALI (your leader). And fear Allah if ye are truly believers.
Al Maidah(5): 57
