INTRODUCTION TO WOODLAND

Aero club launched Woodland shoes in 1992.

Woodland stands for spirit of adventure. These shoes


have been advertised to communicate this spirit.

Woodland has successfully brought together the power


of the human will and the rewards of the discovery.

Woodland product push the boundaries of innovation


so that the customer can explore new products, style
and innovative design. It has mainly focused on
trekking shoes.

Inspired by nature, woodland design helps its


customer to face the challenges thrown up by mother
nature . Therefore Ads made the Woodland be called
as the SUV of Indian shoes.

The woodland tree logo defines the spirit of adventure


and its commitment to environment. Woodland itself
is very unique in its category. Woodland products are
available through 300+ exclusive stores 3000+ multi
brand outlet across the globe.

Journey of Woodland

1960:Aero club started as a small manufacturing unit in Delhi.


They were among the first to export shoes to the U.S.S.R

1962:They ventured into retailing with an outlet at a prime


location in Delhi.

1972:They set up the first fully mechanized modern shoe


factory in India (with German Machinery) to augment existing
capacities, in view of the growing export demand.

1992:The Company launched Woodland brand and acquired


winter boot factory in Quebec, Canada to cater to the Canadian
and U.S. Markets.

1994:Commissioned manufacturing plant for Reebok for


export to U.S.A

1997:Commissioned manufacturing unit for apparels, adding to


the range of Woodland products.

2002:Woodland becomes a national leader in premium


category shoes, apparels and accessories. Started sourcing
operations from South East Asian Countries. Opened offices in
China and Hong Kong, facilitating the heavy domestic demand
for new products and development.

2007:Total No. of exclusive showrooms targeted to touch the


two hundred mark.

All the merchandise is ordered as per the demands only


Retailers first analyse the demands from customers then
only place the orders so that the inventory cost will be
minimum, as all the stores have their own storing units.

Every store has its own Visual Merchandiser who is


responsible for all the arrangements of merchandise and
mannequins in the store.

The pricing of the product is always in the multiple of 5


such as Rs.995, Rs.1495, so that a change of Rs.5 is
always left with them.

Promotion and advertisement

Woodland has collaborated with various E-commerce


sites.

Giving discounts coupons from time to time .

It is located in the P & M mall which is only mall in


Patna. The location of the store is apt and it is able to
attract customers as it is centrally located.

Price offered are expensive but now they have pocket


friendly range too.
