    During early 1970s the young automaker turned to FORD of the UK to provide requisite technology for cars and light trucks, it was a fruitful collaboration. HYUNDIA MOTOR COMPANY merged with KIA AUTOMOTIVE GROUP in 1998 to achieve economies of large scale.

    ACQUISITIONS
    HYUNDAI commercial inc acquired a minority stake in JNK heaters company ltd a manufacturer of heaters and furnaces. Acquired a minority stake in Kia motors HYUNDAI CAPITAL SERVICES INC acquired a minority stake in HK MUTUAL SAVINGS COMPANY In South Korea.

    MAJOR MILESTONES

    In 1991 HYUNDAI unveiled its first in house designed power plant THE ALPHA ENGINES. In 2007 BEIJING HYUNDAI MOTOR CO set record for exceeding one million units in accumulated sales in shortest period. In 2007 HYUNDAI MOTOR INDIA had set record by exceeding 5 lakh units in exports. In 2008 HYUNDAI (without KIA) ranked as the 8th largest automaker. In 2009 it was the worlds fastest growing automaker. I N 2010 it sold over 1.7 million vehicles worldwide.

    CONCLUSION
    From 1968 to till date HYUNDAI MOTOR CO gas emerged as a successful organization with the production of about 1.6 million vehicles annually which makes it the worlds largest automobiles manufacturing plant(in ULSAN SOUTH KOREA)
