    SCRIPT FOR CONTEST CHAIR Good afternoon, Ladies & gentlemen, welcome to Deli Toastmasters Club - Humorous Speech

    and Evaluation Contests. I am Ninda Tane Mabri Sihombing, and I am the contest chair in this contest. How are you for today? Do think that this is a great weekend? As usually I feel so nice in weekend, but how about you, contestant? Do you feel nice in this weekend? You may not answer me.

    Now, we will run the 1st contest, International Speech Contest


    This contest serves the following purposes: 1. To provide an opportunity for speakers to improve their speaking abilities and to recognize the best as encouragement to all 2. To provide an opportunity to learn by observing the more proficient speakers who have benefited from their Toastmasters training I shall now brief the speech contest rules: 1. 2. Photo-snapping during the contest is strictly prohibited. Contestants are given 5-7 minutes to deliver their speech

    3. A contestant will be disqualified from the contest if the speech is less than 4 minute 30 seconds or more than 7 minutes 30 seconds. 4. Upon being introduced, the contestants shall proceed immediately to the speaking position. Timing will begin with the contestants first definite verbal or non-verbal communication with the audience. This usually will be the first word uttered by the contestant, but would include any other communication such as sound effects, a staged act by another person etc. 5. Timers shall provide warning signals to the contestants, which shall be clearly visible to the speakers. - Green light will be displayed at 5 minutes and remain displayed for 1 minute. - Amber light will be displayed at 6 minutes and remain displayed for 1 minute. - Red light will be shown at 7 minutes and remain on until the conclusion of the speech. No audible device such as a buzzer or other signal shall be given for the overtime period. In the event of technical failure of the signal, a speaker is allowed additional 30 seconds extra overtime before being disqualified. 6. I will call each the contestant by announcing the contestants name, speech title, speech title and contestants name. 7. There will be 1 minute of silence between contestants, during which the judges will mark their ballots. 8. No one is allowed to enter or leave the hall while the contestant is speaking. However, you may do so during the 1-minute silence. And before we start the contest, please switch off all noise making devices including pagers and mobile phones. Thank you.

    Are the contestants ready? Are the timers ready? Chief Judge, Are you ready with your judging team? And last, audience, are you ready? Ok, now, we start the contest. Polonia TMC - International Speech Contest Contestant No. 1 is __________________ His/ Her Speech title is ________________________ Title _____________________________ Name __________________________ (After the speech) Thank you. Now we shall observe 1 minute silence. (After all the contestants have delivered their speech) With this, I shall now announce that the International Speech Contest has come to an end. Tally Counters please collect the ballots from the judges. Now, before we continue to the Table Topics Speech Contest, we have break for 10 minutes. And all of the Table Topics Speech Contestants, we have briefing in breaking session. Thank You.

    Now, we will run the 2st contest, Table Topics Speech Contest

    This contest serves the following purposes: 1. To provide an opportunity to learn by observing the more proficient speakers who have benefited from their Toastmasters training. 2. To encourage development of impromptu speaking skills and to recognize the best as encouragement to all.

    I shall now brief the table topic contest rules: 1. 2. Photo-snapping during the contest is strictly prohibited. Contestants are given 2 minutes to deliver their evaluation.

    3. A contestant will be disqualified from the contest if the speech is less than 1 minute or more than 2 minutes 30 seconds. 4. Upon being introduced, the contestants shall proceed immediately to the speaking position. Timing will begin with the contestants first definite verbal or non-verbal communication with the audience. Table topics topic will be read out twice to the contestant and follow by contestants name. 8. There will be 1 minute of silence between contestants, during which the judges will mark their ballots. SAA will then summon the next contestant to enter the contest hall during this 1 minute of silence. 9. No one is allowed to enter or leave the hall while the contestant is speaking. However, if you need to attend to call of nature, you may do so during the 1-minute silence. Once again, before we start the contest, please switch off all noise making devices including pagers and mobile phones. Thank you

    SAA, you may now escort all the contestants out of contest hall, except the 1st contestant. Contestant No. 1 is __________________ Question is ________________________ Questions _____________________________ Name __________________________ (After the table topic) Thank you. Now we shall observe 1 minute silence. (After all the contestants have completed their table topics) With this, I shall now announce that the International Speech Contest has come to an end. Tally Counters please collect the ballots from the judges.

    Now, I would like to call all international speech contestants to come forward to accept the certificate of participation and interview them. You may sit now. Thank You. And now, for all table topics contestants, please come forward. You may sit now, thank you. Everybody, the report is here. Because we start International Speech Contest 1st, so I will announce the table topics speech 1st. For all contestants, good job, you are succeeding to conquer your fear and show your ability to compete each other, all of you are the winners. And for the real winners tonight, congratulations,,, prepare yourself to the next level. Area Governor H2, would you like to announce something? Please. Now, this is really my ending session to close this contest by passing the floor back to the President. Thank you and good night everybody.
