Dan
mother said "God hath judged men" (Gen. 29:6). When his father blessed him, he said: "Dan shall judge... shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path , that biteth" (Gen. 49:17). Adder means serpent, a word from Latin serpere, to creep. Snakes and Scorpio is the only sign represented by three symbols; the Serpent, Scorpion, and Eagle. In fact, in ancient times the constellation of Scorpio was also called the Eagle due to it's proximity to Aquila the Eagle. "Dan shall judge". Really it's "Tannet shall judge", for She was the Original Judge, Lady of the Scales, Libera the Lady of Justice. Tannet is none other than Goddess Maat, the Great Judge in Amenta, the Underworld. The name of Dan and his sister Dinah are both from Kamite Tann (Tanen, Tanen-t, Aten). Dan is apparently the biblical version of the Earth God Tanen, consort of the Earth Goddess Tannet. To the Phoenicians he was DanEl, god of divination, transformed into a Hebrew prophet (Daniel). His powers emanated from Goddess Dana (Tannet) and her sacred serpents. Serpent Dan and Wisdom "Dan.. shall be a serpent". The Serpent is an ancient symbol for Wisdom and is inseparable from the primal Mother of All. "Be wise as serpents" said Christ. One of Her symbols was the Ureaus serpent on Kamite crowns. The same serpent is diabolized in the biblical version of the Garden of Eden. In an earlier Canaanite version of this story, this serpent god was the name of the brazen serpent made by Moses and worshiped by the Israelites (2Kings 18:4). LeviaTHAN was the Hebrew title of this serpent. In Kamite symbolism, there are two types of serpents. One is evil (serpent of draught, negation, and death), the other is good (the Uraeus serpent of Life, worn on the frontlets of the gods and crowns of Kamite royalty). "Other Dans" in the Bible are fragments of the original Afrikan god Tann. As to be expected, they are appropriately connected with Wisdom: Daniel of Ezekial (14:14, 20; 28:3) was famous for his wisdom. Daniel of the Book of Daniel was a prophet of great wisdom and skill in astrology and interpreting dreams. Ethan was so famous for his wisdom that Solomon's wisdom could be described as exceeding Ethan's (1Kings 4:31). Ethan was the Sumerian god Etana, who was the Kamite Tanen.
Scorpio Unites - Divides Opposites Scorpio is the symbol of conjunction, expressing both creation and destruction, birth and death. In Scorpio, Heaven/Earth, and Light/Darkness are united or divided in the same sign. For the Scorpion/Snake crawls on the ground, living in the Darkness of the Earth while Eagles soar in the sky, living in treetop-nests in the Light of the Heavens. This aligns with the meaning of TAN as the joint or break, described thus by Massey: "No Hebrew scholar ever yet knew what was intended by the words 'Tan' and 'Tannin', which include the whale that swallowed Jonah, the serpent that tempted Eve, the leviathan of Job... it is applied to creatures of the desert and monsters of the deep... Islanders are the Tena in Egyptian. Lunar eclipses are Tennu; they cut off the light... Tenu is the joint or break, as the number ten. ...Egypt as the Tan, whether celestial or geographical, was the divided heavens or countries". Derived from TAN, the word and number TEN personifies this join & break. Ten is 10 or IO represnting Yin & Yang or the two polarities of Earth and Sky; Up and Down, phallic Yang (I) and yonic Yin (O). Dan is high (an eagle) and low (a serpent, scorpion). The roots of his name both mean height and depth (like number 10 which goes from 1 to 10).
Wet Tann In Joshua 21:25, the Levites' city is called Taanach, which is mentioned seven times only in the Bible. Seven relates to water. In Egyptian, another meaning of tan (tun, tennu) is water. The Great Mother represented the "Waters", thus rivers were named after Her -the Tana rivers in Kenya and Norway, and Europe's Danube, Don, and Dnieper. Ithnan, name of a biblical town, means "flowing constantly". And Ethanim, name of the 7th month of the Hebrew calendar, means "always flowing with water". Scorpio is the Fixed Water Sign of the Zodiac. Punisher Dan In Hebrew, Dan means punish, judged; Adon means lord. "Dan shall judge". Dan is linked with the Earth and Sun (as the Serpent & Eagle). Shining from on high and witnessing everything from his lofty position, the Sun is in an excellent position to be a judge, and judges sit the highest in their courtrooms. Since Dan is also a serpent, he is a "wise" judge, the best kind. And the serpent biting it's tail is a sun-symbol. Two cobras flanked Kamit's winged solar disk. Winged? There's our Eagle again, for these wings belonged to Horus as the Golden Hawk. A judged person though, might get "punished" like the rider in the path of Dan who got bitten: "Dan... shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his [now judged] rider shall fall backward". (Gen. 49:17) The rider is none other than Sagittarius the equus sign adjacent to Scorpio, who since armed, might retaliate with his arrows. Maybe our judge wasn't as wise as we thought. Since Dan is both high (an eagle) and low (a serpent, scorpion), he is in the position to both "understand" and "overstand", -bringing both views to the Middle on the Scales of Judgement ("innerstand"). Wise Dan then, befitting his symbols, is the Sun in Scorpio, whose name means: Lord, Judge, Cutter (as in biting, stinging, or piercing arrows), Dispenser of Justices (thus sometimes referred to as Punisher).
