Leadership Who was He?

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, as known by Christianity. He lived in ancient Israel in the first century and is known by many as the Son of God. Christians believe that Christ was crucified on the cross for all of mankinds sins; that he died, was buried and was resurrected.

A Quick History
According to History and the Synoptic Gospels Jesus Christ was born around 4 BC in Israel. It would be a turbulent time as Herod would come to know about a new King of the Jews and order a slaughter of all the newborns. Jesus managed to escape to Egypt with his parents from the carnage back in Bethlehem. He eventually returned to his home country Israel at a young age. His ministry began in Nazareth at 30 years old where he would perform many healings, miracles and even resurrection of the dead. However, he was deemed by the religious leaders of the day to be a blasphemer and they constantly plotted against him. Eventually they managed to get one of his disciples Judas to betray Jesus by bribing him. Jesus was arrested, crucified and was buried. However, he miraculously rose again on the third day; and before he ascended into heaven, he tasked his disciples to bring the good news of the gospel to the ends of the world.

Jesus Christ Leadership Lessons

Jesus Christ is the most powerful leader of all time; no matter what you believe about him, it is most amazing to see that even after 2,000 years after he lived, the message he tasked his disciples to preach to the world is still happening today.

Great conquerors like Alexander the Great, the Roman Empire, Genghis Khan have rose but have now fallen, but 2,000 years after Jesus Christ came to establish his kingdom, it still exists and thrives today all over the world. There are countless leadership lessons we can learn from him, but here are a few: 1.Lead by example Jesus always led by example in everything that he told his disciples to do. Whatever he expected them to do; he always showed them how to do it first. He would perform healings and miracles and eventually we would see the disciples doing the same thing. The best way you can lead is by example. In todays world, many leaders expect their subordinates to perform tasks which they themselves are incapable of doing. This destroys their credibility and causes them to lose the respect from their followers. Before you expect your team to keep a standard, ensure that youre keeping it yourself first. 2.Have faith Jesus had great faith and with that faith, he managed to perform all his healings and miracles. On a several occasions, he credits the healings to the recipients faith. This illustrates to us the power of what faith in your life can do. Having a spirit of expectancy sets you up for greater things ahead; and not only that, you lift up the spirits of your team members as well. No matter whats going through in your organization, your faith will aid you in overcoming it, as well as have your team put their trust in you as well. There are many more lessons you can learn from the greatest leader of all time; you have to pick up books yourself and read about him: theres simply too many books written about him that you probably cant finish it in your lifetime!

Best Quotes from Jesus Christ Leadership

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. Let him who is without sin cast the first stone. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, it will be done. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

Billy Graham Leadership

Who was He?

Billy Graham is one of the top preachers and evangelists of the 20th century. Throughout his crusades all over the world, it is estimated he has led over 2.5 million souls to Jesus Christ. He is also a pastor to many U.S Presidents. To date, he has had personal audiences with 12 US Presidents, whom spoke and sought counsel from him.

A Quick History
Billy Graham was born in 1918 in a dairy farm in North Carolina. From a very young age, he had an aversion to alcohol and drugs because his father once forced he and his sister to down a huge amount of it, causing them to vomit. At 16 years of age, he converted to Christianity in a series of revival meetings in Charlotte, North Carolina. After a series of negative encounters with Christians in his earlier days, he finally accepted the Bible as the infallible Word of God in 1943 during his time in Wheaton College. He joined Youth for Christ International as their first full time evangelist and this marked the beginning of his preaching career. He would set up large circus tents as he travelled and preached, and during that time, he became a national religious figure. In 1950, Billy Graham founded the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association which included subsidiaries like a radio station, a Christian publication, a website and a film making company. Billy Graham was a huge success as an evangelist, having had audiences with 12 US Presidents as well as having his name known even in the secular world. He would retire in the early 2000s because of his failing health. After then, he would only make rare appearances at a few large scale events. In his life, Billy Graham has preached Christianity to live audiences of nearly 215 million people in more than 185 countries and territories through various meetings, and has reached hundreds of millions more through television, video, film, and webcasts.

Awards and Honors

Billy Graham has received many awards and honors, including: Ronald Reagan Freedom Award, 2000 Congressional Gold Medal , United States Congress Presidential Medal of Freedom North Carolina Award, 1986

Billy Graham Leadership Lessons

Billy Graham was a preacher, so anyone who listens to him will received one of his many life messages. Here are just two that I would like to point out:

1.Work with your gifts Billy Graham had the gift of speaking, as pointed out by one of his mentors. He began developing the gift by spending a lot of his time preaching and evangelizing, and eventually he became one of the best preachers in the world. I believe that everyone needs a level of self-awareness about their talents and abilities. As a leader, this is even more important because you serve your team or organization best when your giftings are being used and brought to their fullest potential. Do you speak well? Are you a good organizer? Do you relate to people well? All these are good questions you should ask yourself. Find space for these talents to come out so that you can stand out as a leader in your field. 2.Your heart attitude matters Billy Graham was a strong believer in the attitude of the heart. A man can pray with arrogance, or said he loves the Lord without giving a single cent to Him, but Graham believed that through action, one could see attitudes of the heart. The attitudes of the heart are the most important factor you should consider as a leader. A capable man who has only self-interest will never be as a good as a non-so-capable man with pure intentions. For one thing, you can fully trust the man with the pure intentions.

The big challenge here is to learn to look beyond the surface of action to the intentions beneath the surface. A good leader is able to discern them and make wise judgments accordingly.

Best Quotes from Billy Graham Leadership

A child who is allowed to be disrespectful to his parents will not have true respect for anyone. Only God Himself fully appreciates the influence of a Christian mother in the molding of character in her children. Prayer is simply a two-way conversation between you and God. Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion - it is a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ. God is more interested in your future and your relationships than you are. God proved His love on the Cross. When Christ hung, and bled, and died, it was God saying to the world, "I love you." Believers, look up - take courage. The angels are nearer than you think. Comfort and prosperity have never enriched the world as much as adversity has. If a person gets his attitude toward money straight, it will help straighten out almost every other area in his life.

If we had more hell in the pulpit, we would have less hell in the pew. It is not the body's posture, but the heart's attitude that counts when we pray. Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened. Give me five minutes with a person's checkbook, and I will tell you where their heart is. The word 'romance,' according to the dictionary, means excitement, adventure, and something extremely real. Romance should last a lifetime. MORE BILLY GRAHAM LEADERSHIP QUOTES There is nothing wrong with men possessing riches. The wrong comes when riches possess men. We are not cisterns made for hoarding, we are channels made for sharing. God's angels often protect his servants from potential enemies. I just want to lobby for God. I've read the last page of the Bible. It's all going to turn out all right. God has given us two hands, one to receive with and the other to give with. Man has two great spiritual needs. One is for forgiveness. The other is for goodness. My home is in Heaven. I'm just traveling through this world. The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes, and say, 'O God, forgive me,' or 'Help me.' The highest form of worship is the worship of unselfish Christian service. The greatest form of praise is the sound of consecrated feet seeking out the lost and helpless. Nothing can bring a real sense of security into the home except true love. Read the Bible. Work hard and honestly. And don't complain. Suppose you could gain everything in the whole world, and lost your soul. Was it worth it? Tears shed for self are tears of weakness, but tears shed for others are a sign of strength. The most eloquent prayer is the prayer through hands that heal and bless.

When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when character is lost, all is lost. You're born. You suffer. You die. Fortunately, there's a loophole.

Steve Jobs Leadership Who is He?

Steve Jobs is the Chairman and CEO of Apple Computers Inc. and arguably one of the worlds most successful businessmen today. He founded Apple in the 1970s, got chased out by his own board of directors, but returned eventually as Apples CEO. Since then, he has revolutionized the IT industry with his creations like the MacBook, the iPod and the iPhone. Since his return, he has brought Apple Computers Inc. from a fledging company to a global force to be reckoned with.

A Quick History
Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco in Feburary 24, 1955. He was an adopted son of the Jobs couple from California. Jobs attended Homestead High School in California and often went to the after school lectures by Hewlett-Packard Company. It was there that he met his eventual partner, Steve Wozniak. Jobs would have his early beginnings working at Atari as a technician building circuit boards. In 1976, he would start the company Apple Inc. with Steve with funding from a millionaire investor. In 1984, he developed the Macintosh, which was the first small computer with a graphic interface in its time. It had promise to revolutionize the whole PC industry. However, bad business decision and internal stife with his CEO would eventually cause Jobs to leave his own company. He went on to start two other companies; NeXT and Pixar. Pixar would be acquired by the Disney Company and NeXT would be acquired by his own Apple Computers Inc. With the acquisition, he returned to Apple Computers Inc. in 1996 as interim CEO. Steve Jobs Leadership Lessons

1.Persistence is the key Steve Jobs was a very persistent person and it was most exempilifed through his exit from Apple. He would not give up, but went on to start NeXT computers which would eventually be acquired by Apple Computers Inc. If Jobs was like most people, he would have given up and spent the rest of his life being bitter about his loss. As a leader, you have to be ready to face setbacks. Setbacks are a part of life and whether you become successful or not often depend on your ability not to give up. It is all the more important to display this attribute, especially if you want to build a never-say-die team. 2.Innovation brings leadership Jobs saw the power of innovation in building his company. Till today, we can see the innovating power of Apple Computers Inc as it continues to take market leadership in the industry. If you want to maintain your leadership, you have to be the one whos constantly up with new ideas, new initiatives, all in the spirit of moving your organizational mission forward. In whatever industry youre in, your constant innovation in alignment with your mission will keep you ahead of the pack.

Best Quotes from Steve Jobs Leadership

It took us three years to build the NeXT computer. If we'd given customers what they said they wanted, we'd have built a computer they'd have been happy with a year after we spoke to them - not something they'd want now. A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.

Sometimes when you innovate, you make mistakes. It is best to admit them quickly, and get on with improving your other innovations. You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they'll want something new. I want to put a ding in the universe. Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works. Pretty much, Apple and Dell are the only ones in this industry making money. They make it by being Wal-Mart. We make it by innovation. Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower. The people who are doing the work are the moving force behind the Macintosh. My job is to create a space for them, to clear out the rest of the organization and keep it at bay. To turn really interesting ideas and fledgling technologies into a company that can continue to innovate for years, it requires a lot of disciplines. Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected. I think we're having fun. I think our customers really like our products. And we're always trying to do better.

He faced with many failures and setbacks through the way before he finally created the Mickey Mouse Character in late 1920s. Walt Disney Leadership Lessons

1. Never stop dreaming Walt Disney was a dreamer. He never stopped trying out new things, creating new cartoons no matter how successful he was. As a leader, you must also never stop innovating and dreaming about new possibilities. Truly the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. If you want to build something worthwhile, constantly think about more creative ways you can achieve it. Never underestimate the power of your imagination to do something different from the rest of the crowd. 2. Keep on keeping on Disney suffered many setbacks in his career. Most of us would like to believe that Walt Disney just thought of creating Mickey Mouse one day and became an overnight success, but a quick read of his biography will make you realize that

Disney went through many discouraging moments before his success with Mickey Mouse, about 10 years after his first attempt at a business. As a leader, you need to have a tenacity to keep on going. Every person will go through tough times, especially when he/shes chasing after a huge dream or goal. It is your tenacity that will cause you to stand out from the rest and attract people to follow you.

Best Quotes from Walt Disney Leadership

The more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else, which makes you unique. The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing. There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate's loot on Treasure Island. We allow no geniuses around our Studio. A man should never neglect his family for business. Of all the things I've done, the most vital is coordinating those who work with me and aiming their efforts at a certain goal. Or heritage and ideals, our code and standards - the things we live by and teach our children - are preserved or diminished by how freely we exchange ideas and feelings. We are not trying to entertain the critics. I'll take my chances with the public. We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. You reach a point where you don't work for money. Disneyland is a work of love. We didn't go into Disneyland just with the idea of making money. Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world. I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter. I believe in being an innovator. When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable.

When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do. I do not like to repeat successes, I like to go on to other things. I have been up against tough competition all my life. I wouldn't know how to get along without it. I'd say it's been my biggest problem all my life... it's money. It takes a lot of money to make these dreams come true. If you can dream it, you can do it. All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. All the adversity I've had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me... You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you. It's kind of fun to do the impossible. Bill Gates Leadership Who is He?

Bill Gates is consistently the richest man in the world; and the co-founder of Microsoft, the creator of the commonly used Windows. He is best known for being the entrepreneur that revolutionized the computer industry. Recently he has been active in philanthropic work, having set up the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and giving over US$28 billion to their causes.

A Quick History
Gates began his interest in computers at a very young age. At eighth grade, he was already showing unusual interest in computers and even skipped his Math class to pursue his interest in programming. He went on to Harvard College after scoring an SAT of 1590 out of 1600. However in Harvard, he did not spend much time studying but spent most of his time in front of the computers. Eventually he dropped out of Harvard and started Microsoft. As a new company, Gates developed the program BASIC which was popular with many computer hobbyists, but its development stopped because of widespread piracy of his product.

The breakthrough for Microsoft began when IBM approach Gates to develop software for their systems; eventually Gates created the MS-DOS program for IBM which he held the copyright to. This was the beginning of the rise of Microsoft; and the rest is history.

Bill Gates Leadership Lessons

1. Years and years of hard work precede success Many of us, having heard that Microsoft was started out of Gates garage, would be tempted to think that he was a kid with no prior knowledge and managed to start a multi-billion dollar business from those little experiments done there. But the truth is that, a quick read into his history will make you realize that Gates has had tremendous experience with programming and coding prior to even starting Microsoft. It was his vast experience in the area of programming and coding that allowed him to build the first software DOS that launched Microsoft into its global position. So before we start believing that overnight successes are possible, remember that even the richest man in the world did it through many hours of hard work; and so you must too, if you want to see success in your life. 2. Go where your passion leads Bill Gates didnt work extra hard doing programming because he was hungry to become a millionaire and he wanted to do everything he could do pursue that. He worked very hard because he was simply passionate about what he was doing. He found programming software to be extremely interesting to him and it motivated him to do more. Through that, it gave him the experience to set up Microsoft. If you want to become a success like Bill Gates, dont chase the dollar sign. Dont go to opportunity after opportunity trying to find which one makes you the top dollar. This will only cause you to lose focus on what you want for your own life and set you up for a big fall. Money is everywhere and there are many ways you can make it; the more important thing is that you follow your passion. Money will find you naturally.

3. Give back Giving back to the community is an important act because it is a reflection of your character. Are you a giver or a taker? Do you exist in this world to become a blessing to the community, or do you expect the community youre in to bless you? The attitude that you adopt in this will determine if you will become a person of success or a person of significance. There are a lot of people who are successful, but few names are remember through time. The ones that we remember even till today are those that made a difference in the world that we lived in. If you want to become a leader that people admire and respect, you must become a person of significance. People dont follow you because you take from them; they follow you because you give to them. Strive to live out a life that makes a difference in this world; give back more than what youve taken from society. Your life then will be a true success.

Best Quotes from Bill Gates Leadership

As we look ahead into the next century, leaders will be those who empower others. Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one. I believe that if you show people the problems and you show them the solutions they will be moved to act. I really had a lot of dreams when I was a kid, and I think a great deal of that grew out of the fact that I had a chance to read a lot. In this business, by the time you realize you're in trouble, it's too late to save yourself. Unless you're running scared all the time, you're gone. It's fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure. Life is not fair; get used to it. People always fear change. People feared electricity when it was invented, didn't they? People feared coal, they feared gas-powered engines... There will always be ignorance, and ignorance leads to fear. But with time, people will come to accept their silicon masters. Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can't lose.

We always overestimate the change that will occur in the next two years and underestimate the change that will occur in the next ten. Don't let yourself be lulled into inaction. Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning.
