ABSTRACT
I had the opportunity to intern for six weeks at Amber Internet
Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Pune, where I gained valuable hands-on experience
in partnership auditing. My primary responsibility was to revitalize
relationships with inactive partners by leveraging my communication
and networking skills to re-engage them and strengthen their
association with the company. Alongside this, I utilized my creativity
and design skills to craft logos for emails and promotional flyers,
contributing to the company’s marketing efforts.

1.2 Employee Relations
During my internship at Amber Internet Solutions Pvt. Ltd., I was
fortunate to work in an environment filled with young, driven, and
enthusiastic individuals who were not only passionate about their work
but also incredibly friendly and welcoming to newcomers. The
camaraderie among colleagues was inspiring, and the sense of inclusion
made it a truly rewarding experience. I received exceptional
mentorship from my team heads, Brijesh Arjule and Pranay Jindal, who
not only guided me professionally but also took the time to teach me
the intricacies of my tasks, ensuring that I understood and executed
them effectively. Later, I had the privilege of working under the
mentorship of Esha Jaitley, who eventually became my manager. Her
guidance and support were invaluable, and I am deeply grateful for the
contributions of these three remarkable individuals. Despite being the
youngest employee at Amber during my internship, I never felt out of
place. My colleagues made me feel included and valued, fostering a
positive and supportive atmosphere that allowed me to grow both
personally and professionally. This nurturing environment left a lasting
impression on me and contributed significantly to the success of my
internship.
2. Networking in Business
Networking has long been considered a cornerstone of professional
growth and business development.
Existing Literature
Granovetter's (1973) theory on the "strength of weak ties" underscores
the potential of indirect connections in expanding opportunities and
driving innovation. Further, Kotler et al. (2016) examined how
networking within professional ecosystems facilitates resource sharing
and knowledge transfer. They stressed the importance of personalized
communication strategies for building strong, trust-based networks.
Internship Findings
At Amber Internet Solutions, networking was instrumental in
reactivating dormant partners. Personalized communication via calls
and emails, along with the design of visually appealing logos and flyers,
supported the re-engagement process. These practical strategies reflect
Kotler et al.'s (2016) assertion about the value of personalized
communication but go further by highlighting the role of visual
elements in strengthening networking outcomes.
The practical experience also deviated from Granovetter’s (1973)
theory, as the internship demonstrated that strong ties—those built
through frequent interactions and a history of collaboration—were
more effective in reactivating inactive partners than weak ties. This
indicates that the relevance of weak versus strong ties might vary based
on the specific objectives of networking efforts.
3. Integration of Auditing and Networking
The synergy between auditing and networking is a relatively
underexplored area in academic literature.
Existing Literature
Few studies, such as Brown and Simons (2019), have explored the
integration of auditing and networking. They argue that effective
auditing reveals opportunities for networking by identifying partners
with unutilized potential. Conversely, proactive networking can provide
real-time insights into a partner’s performance, thus enriching the
auditing process.
Internship Findings
The work at Amber Internet Solutions highlighted the interdependence
of these two domains. Networking efforts, such as personalized
communication, directly fed into the auditing process by generating
qualitative insights about partner capabilities. This real-time feedback
loop aligns with Brown and Simons' (2019) findings but also reveals the
need for digital tools to streamline the integration of these processes.
CHAPTER 3
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
For our assignment, I will outline the research methodology based on
my internship at Amber Internet Solutions Pvt. Ltd., focusing on two
primary areas: partnership auditing and networking.
Partnership Auditing
To carry out partnership auditing, I was provided with a database of
approximately 300 inactive partners associated with various POEs
(Partnership Operations Executives). The task involved understanding
why these partners had stopped active communication with Amber and
encouraging them to re-engage. The methodology included the
following steps:
1. Database Access and Tools Used:
I used FreshSales, a CRM tool equipped with detailed records of the
inactive partners, to analyze and prioritize contacts.
The tool acted as a robust platform for managing partner data more
efficiently than traditional spreadsheets.
2. Communication Approach:
I reached out to these partners through a mix of phone calls, emails,
and Google Meet sessions.
The objective was to identify the reasons behind their inactivity and
propose solutions to address their concerns.
3. Strategies for Partner Re-engagement:
I leveraged my communication and persuasion skills to build trust and
resolve any misunderstandings.
Follow-ups were consistent, and I emphasized mutual benefits to
encourage them to reconnect with Amber.
4. Outcomes:
By the end of this phase, I successfully reactivated several inactive
partners. The specific outcomes and metrics will be discussed further in
the "Results and Discussion" section.
Networking
Networking formed the second key component of my internship, where
the focus was on establishing and nurturing relationships with
international partners.
1. Task Overview:
I was tasked with connecting and networking with partners worldwide,
including those from Nepal and the UK.
Unlike partnership auditing, this phase was not directly aimed at
onboarding new partners but building awareness and strengthening
relationships with Amber.
2. Challenges Faced:
Time Zone Differences: Scheduling meetings across different time zones
required flexibility and effective planning.
Accent Barriers: Understanding diverse accents posed a challenge, but
with time, I adapted and improved my communication skills.
3. Tools and Platforms Used:
I used tools like Apollo IO and Lucia for lead generation and building
contacts.
