Act 4 Parts of Cells
Activity No. 4
THE ANIMAL CELL
I. OBJECTIVE
The students are expected to draw and study the different parts of the Animal cell.
II. DISCUSSION
The basic living unit of the body is the cell, which is made up of different
biomolecules. Four of these biomolecules—proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates,
and lipids- are among the most complicated substance known. All cells are
surrounded by a cell membrane, which is the “skin” or envelope containing the cell
contents. The contents of the cell minus the nucleus are the cytoplasm, which can be
divided into the cytosol and the organelles.
III. MATERIALS
Pencil, pen, picture of the animal cell, plant cell and cell membrane
