PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
The IEEE Industry Applications Society Electrical Safety Technical & Mega Projects Workshop is to be held November 19 to
November 21, 2008 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The IEEE IAS ESTMP Workshop provides a forum for exchanging and advancing
industry knowledge in the areas of safety, engineering design, system reliability and the implementation of large projects. The Workshop
focus will be to share innovative concepts, successes as well as lessons learned in the areas of: 1) advancing the application of state of
the art knowledge and practices, 2) stimulating innovation in creating the next generation of technology and 3) design and
implementation of Mega Projects. For 2008, the Safety, Technical & Mega Project Workshop participants have a unique opportunity to
get additional value from their Workshop experience. This year, in addition to the very beneficial presentations, 3 Panel Discussions and
2 Tutorials have been included in the program (see back page).
EXHIBITORS
We encourage all exhibitors to attend the technical sessions of the Workshop in order to experience the latest technologies, listen to and
better understand the problems encountered in the field, and hear the concerns of participants. This information is of great value in
determining customer needs and wants, which can help in product design and marketing strategies. The face-to-face networking time
available in between the workshop sessions offers each exhibitor the opportunity to reacquaint themselves with existing customers, as
well as develop new contacts and to share how their products and services benefit the industry. At the end of the Workshop, all
participants are given a printed attendees list. All Exhibitors are expected to adhere to the Commercialism and Ethics Guidelines (see
website).
The Exhibition will be held on Wednesday and Thursday after the Mega-projects afternoon sessions, in the Mayfield’s exhibition hall,
which has a very accessible loading dock for larger displays. The Exhibits fee structure is posted at www.ieee.org/estmp and the
Registration Form.
