Proportional Flow Control Valves

The DICKEY-john proportional flow control valves are priority-type flow
regulators providing pressure-compensated, regulated, and bypass flow.

Features:
• 4 gpm (p/n 46709-2004); 8 gpm (p/n 46709-2008); and 24 gpm
(46709-2050)
• Solenoid operated
• Electrically variable
• Three port
• Pressure compensated spool type
• Normally closed when de-energized
• Regulated flow rate 0-15 lpm (0-4 gpm), 0-30 lpm (0-8 gpm), and 0-90
lpm (0-24 gpm)
• Reverse free flow cracking pressure (1-1.4 bar) 15-20 psi
• Internal leakage 0.38 lpm (0.10 gpm) at zero current

Ratings:

Operating Pressure:
Port 1 Inlet 240 bar (3500 psi)
Port 2 Bypass 207 bar (3000 psi)
Port 3 Regulated 207 bar (3000 psi)

Electrical:
Coil Voltage: 12 VDC
Threshold Current: 300 +/- 100 mA
Maximum Control Current: 1600 +/- 100 mA

A spacer plate fabricated by the user is recommended to mount between the

valve and the mounting surface. A clearance of .25 inches between the valve
and mounting surface is recommended.

OPERATION:

USASI/ISO: Valves regulate flow out of port 3 regardless of system working pressure. With
increasing current to the solenoid, output flow increases.

When used as a bypass flow control in applications where the priority flow port
is blocked by external valving, bypass pressure drop increases unless a small
amount of leakage is provided for the priority port.

Manual Override:
• To engage, turn clockwise approximately 1 turn to reach start point.
• Continue approximately 5 more turns to full shift.
• To disengage, turn counterclockwise 6 turns to positive stop.
