Application:
ZYD-II Double stages vacuum transformer oil purification machine is our newest research
and development of products of ZYD series of high vacuum double stages vacuum
transformer oil purifier. ZANYO design the ZYD-II machine is on the basis of ZYD-I old
type of transformer oil purifier, comparing with ZYD-I, ZYD-II designed with “T” type oil
evaporation vessel and auto defoaming system., ZYD-II be more faster and more thoroughly
for dewatering, degassing, removing effects of acids and the other.

ZYD-II is professionally designed for purifying electrical insulating oil (transformer oil,
switch oil, mutual oil, cable oil, capacitor oil) in the oil-filled electrical equipment. Through
degasification, dehydration, filtration processes, the machine can remove the dissolved gases
((acetylene, hydrogen, methane etc.) and moisture, solid particulate and contamination
completely, it effectively to improve oil’s dielectric strength and to make sure the electric
device running safely and stable.

Meanwhile, the machine can be used as vacuum oil injecting and vacuum drying equipment
for transformers; Especially for the 110KV-500KV large-scale transformer station, ZYD-II oil
filtration machine is particularly suitable for treating high-grade transformer oil, super-voltage
transformer oil and new transformer oil. And it can be used for filtration live line work onsite.

Function:
Removing the moisture. The final treated oil can achieve less than 3ppm,achieve ASTM D1533.

Degassing. The final treated oil can achieve less than 0.1%;

Removing particles.

Two vacuum systems:


a: vacuum pump system
b: roots pump vacuum system,
c: to make ultimate vacuum value ≤ 5Pa; working vacuum ≤ 35Pa.

Adopt “upside down” flash distillation technique; increasing separating time and evaporation surface, thus dewatering and degassing quickly
and completely.

Two vacuum separating chambers, double-horizontal film evaporation technology, can rapidly and effectively separate water, dissolved
moisture, gas from oil.

Adopt “gradual serried filter fineness” technique, the fine filter with accuracy to 1µm; the interception rate of the solid particles is 99.9%.

Double-infrared liquid automatic sensor, double-infrared liquid automatic controller to ensure the machine working safely.

Adopt interlocked protective system which connects oil pump, heater and liquid level sensor, thus avoiding blank heating, blank pumping, oil
leak and electricity leak.

1.Working principle

Under vacuum and negative pressure state, the water can be vaporized in low temperature, the higher vacuum state; the lower of water boiling
point, the water is vaporized faster. Even under same temperature, water can be moved faster under vacuum state. Oil goes into heater after
purified by primary filter, Oil temperature goes up when heated. Then oil goes in to vacuum separator to become oil film by the film sprayer. In
vacuum separator, water becomes vapor, and discharged by vacuum pump. After that, oil is transferred to fine filter by oil pump.

1.1 Main Spare Parts Introduction


● Primary filter: Remove the big impurities which are biggest than 50μ, it can avoid the jam in each oil pipe and reduce the abrasion of oil
pump. It is stainless Steel, washable.
● Secondary filter and fine filter: Remove the big impurities ,the precision is 3μ and 1μ. When the filter pressure is over than 0.3mpa, the
device stops running immediately, and the HMI output alarm information"02 please replace the refined
filter core".
● Condensation: The water in heated oil forms vapor in vacuum tank, and then the vapor forms liquid water due the low temperature in
condensation. The condensation not only reduces the temperature of vacuum pump, but also it also reduces the frequency
of changing vacuum pump oil so that it can enlarge the lifetime of vacuum pump. there equips a liquid level detection
device (FS04). When the FS04 detects the liquid level, the machine stops running immediately, and the HMI
output alarm information "01 please empty the condenser"
● Vacuum pump & Roots pump: Providing vacuum source
● Oil pump: Transfer the oil which is exhausted the gas to outside.
● Heater: Heating oil. Two groups heaters.
● Vacuum sensor and pressure sensor: Detects vacuum value and pressure value
● Automatic foam elimination system: To defoam automatically when it detects foams.

● Power Switch: Two selector switch, to control the power supply.

● Power supply: Red indicator light. when the machine connect right electric power, this light is lighten.

● Emergency stop: Red mushroom button, if there is something wrong with the machine or the machine is in emergency
circumstances, please press the button to stop the machine.

● Alarm Indicator: Red indicator light, when there is something wrong with the machine, this light is twinkling.

● Root Pump: it is standby application button. Normally, Roots pump works automatically.

● VP/AUTO/Vacuum Pump: Two selector switch(Auto mode operation or vacuum pump)

● Outlet pump: Two selector switch, If machine is in Auto mode, this button dose not work. If machine is in “manual stop mode”, users
choose outlet pump for discharging oil by switching switch.

● Heater 1:it is 35KW. Two selector switch. If machine is in Auto mode, heater1, heater 2, heater 3 works automatically. If machine is in
manual mode, users choose heater1,heater 2 or heater 3 by switching switch.
Note: For ZYD-II-150 model machine, we advise the heating power is from 35KW to 105KW.

● Heater 2: it is 35 KW.
Heater 2: If machine is in Auto mode, If machine is in Auto mode, heater1, heater 2, heater 3 works automatically. If
machine is in manual mode, users choose(or not choose) heater2 by switching switch.
● Heater 3: it is 35 KW. It is the same as Heater 1, and Heater 2.

● Name plate: it shows machine information.

Control Temperature:Machine working temperature,setting range 20-99℃, normally, we set up at 60C.
Protect Pressure:To protect filter, factory setting. When the filter pressure is over than the setting value(factory setting0.3MPA), the oil pump
stops running. ( Not recommended to change)
Start Roots Pump (pressure): factory setting. To set the pressure when the roots pump starts up. After the vacuum pump starts up, when the
vacuum chamber pressure is lower than the setting value(4000pa), and the roots pump starts up. ( Not recommended to change)
Note: if the vacuum gauge is " Forbidden or Failure ",the roots pump will not be controlled.

Shut off (machine according to the)Moisture( Content):To set up the moisture content. When the running mode is "auto" and the moisture
sensor "in use",the PLC detects the oil moisture content which achieves the setting value, the equipment automatically stops
running. setting range 1-99ppm.
Capacity: 9000L/H, you can control the flow rate by MV03 or inlet valveMV02.( Normally, Not recommended to change)
(Flow )Impulse:factory setting, calibrated flow. ( Not recommended to change)
Temperature correction:When the oil actual temperature deviates from the display temperature,to modify this temperature data to be
consistent with the actual temperature,-20~20℃. ( Not recommended to change)

Inlet pump Base frequency: Inlet pump reference frequency, factory setting. ( Not recommended to change)
Inlet pump upper frequency( limited): Factory Settings( Not recommended to change)
Inlet pump lower frequency(limited): Factory Settings( Not recommended to change)
Outlet pump Base frequency: Outlet pump reference frequency, factory setting. ( Not recommended to change)
Outlet Pump Upper Frequency( Limited): Factory Settings( Not recommended to change)
Outlet Pump Lower Frequency( Limited): Factory Settings( Not recommended to change)

Single Valve Delay: To set the time from oil upper level detector switch connect to to start up the one - way oil solenoid valve; or to set the time
to start up the inlet oil pump. Factory Settings( No need to change)

Double Valve Delay: To set the time from oil upper level detector switch disconnect to to start up the two - way oil solenoid valve; or to set the
time to start up the inlet oil pump. Factory Settings(No need to change)
Outlet Pump Protection: To delay to stop the outlet oil pump. ( Not recommended to change)
Defoaming Time: To control the time of eliminating foam. Factory Settings
Pump out first time: Automatic stop, the time from oil lower level detector switch disconnect to oil drain completely. Factory Settings
Wait (Draining)Time: After an oil discharge time, the waiting time for the second oil discharge. Factory Settings
Pump out second time:The time from the second time to start up oil pump to oil drain completely. Factory Settings
Temperature Sensor:Can be set to "in use" or "not in use" state. Nonuse an external temperature sensor, set to " not in use " state. When set to "
not in use ", the PLC will not operate on the temperature. Factory Settings
Note: when Temperature sensor set to " not in use " state ,heater will not work.
Vacuum Sensor:Can be set to "in use" or "not in use" state. The vacuum sensor installed, set to "in use" , no vacuum sensor installed, set to "not
in use" state. When set to "not in use", the PLC will not detect on the vacuum, at the same time, if there is no vacuum switch installed, roots
pump will not work.
Pressure Sensor: "not in use"
Flow Meter: " not in use "
Moisture Sensor: " not in use"
Voltage sensor: "not in use"
Current sensor: "not in use"

Note: The sensor is an electronic probe, different oil may have different errors. The data can only be used as a reference, not to judge the
absolute value of moisture in the oil.

Inlet Pump:"not in use".


Inlet Pump VFD: "not in use".
Outlet pump VFD: "not in use".

Run Model:Can be set to "auto" or "manual" state.
"Manual" State:When manual operation, the vacuum pump, heater 1(35KW) and heater 2(35KW) ,heater 3(35KW) must be manually start up
by the control panel. The oil pump and the roots pump are automatically controlled by PLC.
When the machine stops, Startup “oil pump” button,Open the vent valve, machine continues to work for 2 minutes to pump out all the oil t, then
stop “oil pump” button.
when machine runs, oil pump starts up and stops automatically.
(For the big heating power, we advise you choose the manual operation)

"Auto" State: When automatic operation, only to start up or stop "auto/vacuum pump" switch, Heater 1,2,3 will be start up automatically. And
then, all operations are automatically controlled by PLC. When the machine is in "auto" state and the moisture sensor(if machine has moisture
sensor) is "in use", the PLC detects the oil moisture content which is lower than the set value, the equipment automatically stops running.

2. Prepare working (Please reference flow chart)


1. Place the machine in balanced place; connect inlet /outlet oil hose. Closed those valves which connect the ambient (MV01, MV02, MV03,
MV07, MV09, MV10, MV11, MV12,MV13,MV14,MV15). Please pay attention to TV01. If you do not want to choose use the regeneration
system, please close the system by TV01.

About TV01:

This is close regeneration system. To open regeneration system

MV03: circulation valve, it is with two functions:


a. It can control the flow rate.
b. When open the valve MV03, the oil temperature will raise fast, speed up to eliminate oil foam.

2. All spare parts of the oil purifier have been adjusted before delivery from factory. When machine is sent to working-site, all connecting parts
need to fix again.

3. Lay machine on the ground stable. Connect oil purifier machine and waste oil tank by oil hose. (Note: Machine outlet port connects waste oil
tank inlet port; Oil Purifier’s inlet port connects waste oil tank outlet port)

4. Check all the wire connections of the power panel, oil pump, vacuum pump and heater to ensure reliable connection and insulating.

5. Please check the vacuum pump lubricant level, there is a glass window at the back of the vacuum pump, there are level lines(max and min),
and the lubricant level should be between the two red lines.

6. Please check the oil pump lubricant oil.

Note: you purify the transformer oil; you need to add the transformer oil in it as lubricant oil.

7. Connect the three electric-wires rightly, you can check the status, it should be on Normal. As in picture:

8. Connected to power, it is manual mode. Startup the vacuum pump (“Auto/vp” button) for 2 seconds by manual way, then stop it. There are
running arrowhead labels at the vacuum pump and oil pump, observe the vacuum pump motor running direction, it should keeps same
direction with running arrowhead. If the running direction is not same, please adjust the three wires position until motor works normally.

9. Please do same test for oil pump.

11.Setup PLC parameter. Only need to set up the temperature. All of the settings are factory setting. (please read carefully of 1.4)

3. operation steps:
3.1 “AUTO” Start:
1. Connect inlet and outlet pipes, close the regeneration system.

2. Switch the Power Supply button to “ON”.

3. Enter into PLC screen. Choose AUTO model.

4. Startup “vacuum pump” button.

5. To open the outlet valve fully and to open inlet valve slowly, then machine will work automatically.

Note 1:
1. Heater1,Heater 2, Heater 3 works automatically.
2. For ZYD-II-150 model machine, we advise the heating power is from 35KW to 105KW.
3. Roots pump works automatically when the vacuum degree reach to -0.09Mpa.
4. After starting up vacuum pump, the machine detects first, if there is some oil in the machine, oil pump will pump out oil from
machine first, then start to work; if there is no oil in the machine, it works directly.)
5. When machine is running, if the pressure of second filter is more than 0.3Mpa, please stop the machine and change the filter (Or

clean it). Otherwise, the pressure protector will stop the machine.
6. Oil pump does not work without oil in.

Note 2: regeneration system:


To be familiar with regenerative tank. The regeneration valve is three-way valve.
At beginning, to prevent overpressure, please turn on TV01 by anti-clockwise direction.
Please move the TV01, and to open the regeneration system, as in picture:

3.2 “AUTO” Stop:


1. Stop “vacuum pump” button.(Machine will continue to work for several minutes.)
2. Close inlet Valve MV02, open Vent valve MV07.
3. Machine will continue to work for 2 minutes to pump out all the oil, oil pump stops temporary.
4. Machine continue to detect the oil in the machine, if machine detects some oil in the machine, the oil pump continues to work again to pump
out oil, until all oil is pumped out if machine detects there is no oil in the machine, the oil pump stops to work.
5. Close outlet valve MV01.
6. Power cut.

4.Operation in “manual” way.


4.1 “MANUAL” Start
1. Connect inlet and outlet pipes, close the regeneration system.

2. Switch the Power Supply to “ON”.

3. Startup “vacuum pump” button.

4. To open the outlet valve fully and inlet valve slowly.

5. After oil pump working, to startup heater by hand. (you can choose the heater1(35kw) or heater 2(35kw) or heater 3 (35kw)). Then
machine begin to work.

Please pay attention to Note 1. And Note2.

4.2“MANUAL” stop:
1. Shut off all Heaters.
2. Stop “vacuum pump” button.
3. Close inlet Valve MV02, open Vent valve MV07.
4. Switch on the oil pump, and pump out all the oil, then switch off the oil pump.
5. Close outlet valve MV01
6. Power cut.

5.The stop sequence

6. Online working operation(it suitable the transformers which contain 4-5 tons transformer
oil):
1. To close all the valves of the transformer oil purifier machine, and to connect the inlet and outlet pipe with transformer bottom valve and top
valve. As in pictures:

2. To open (transformer oil purifier)inlet valve2, outlet valve1,and inner circulating valve.
3. To start up the vacuum pump, evacuate the oil purifier in vacuum state.
4. When the vacuum value is less than 1000pa, to open slowly transformer’s outlet valve4, oil goes into oil purifier machine.
5. Oil purifier begin to purify the oil(in the transformer oil purifier), through the sightglass, there is no foams in the vacuum chamber.
6. To open the transformer’s inlet valve3
7. To close inner circulating valve slowly, finally fully to close inner circulating valve.
Online working stops:
1. to close (oil purifier)inlet valve2.
2. To close transformer’s outlet valve4
3. To discharge all oil back to transformer.
4. To close oil purifier’s outlet valve1
5. To close transformer’s inlet valve3.

Note: if the transformer oil is less than 4-5 tons.


If the transformer contains oil less than 4-5 tons, please pump in 4%-6% new oil in the transformer oil purifier, such as ZYD-II-50 model, the
new oil quantity is about 100kg will be pumped into the transformer oil purifier.

7. Replacing Chemical

2. Unscrew all the screws of Chemical Opening 1 and Chemical Opening 2;


3. To open Chemical Opening 1 and Chemical Opening 2;
4. Take the chemical out from the regeneration tank through Chemical Opening 2.
5. Wash the regeneration tank by water or new oil;
6. To close the Chemical Opening 2 after the tank is dry.
7. Put the new chemical into the regeneration tank through Chemical Opening 1 (do not put too full, Four 5.)
8. To close Chemical Opening 1.
9. To tighten all the screws.
Note:
Please put the silica gel into the oil regeneration system.(Sample has been put in the regeneration tank)

8. Notification
1. When the machine works on-site, the machine should be closed to transformer oil or oil pipe. The oil-sucked pipe should be short in order to
reduce the resistance of pipe.
2. Before connect pipes (including oil tank), Must clean all parts and make good seal.
3. Operate as per the process seriously. When start the machine, do not purify the oil until make sure vacuum pump, oil pump, heater works
normal and the inside circulation is good.
4. If the waste oil has much and big mechanical impurities and mass water, please remove the water and impurities at the bottom of waste oil,
and use other purify equipment such as centrifuge purifier / plate pressure purifier to treat first, then use vacuum oil purifier to treat. In that
way, it can extend the lifetime of vacuum oil purifier.
5. When the machine is running, please observe the working situation of oil purifier such as vacuum degree, flow capacity, temperature. And
should to compare the oil quality between waste oil and purified oil such as dielectric strength, water content. In that way, check the
efficiency of oil purifier.
6. When the machine run in winter, please take heat preservation method for pipe, vacuum tank etc. When the machine is worked at the
transformer substation, please comply the safe working rule which is made by electric power industry.

9. Maintenance
1. Worker must be familiar with the general knowledge of vacuum pump, heater and oil pump etc.
2. After run for a long time, when the vacuum pump oil has much water to be emulsification situation, please change the new vacuum pump oil
(1# vacuum pump oil or relevant engine oil instead)
3. if the inlet oil quality become less, the reason is that inlet filter (primary filter) and pipe is jammed or oil pipe leakage. Under this situation,
open each exhaust / drainage valves to let out waste oil and water, then clean the filter and pipe.
4. The vacuum pump’s cooling liquid needs to change when it is dirty.

10. Methods for Replacing the fine filter core FL02,FL03


steps methods Note
1 To close(MV02 or MV04),open outlet valve(MV01 or MV03)
and vent valve MV07.
2 Start up the oil pump, pump out all oil from the machine. To check through the outlet oil pipe
3 Stops the machine after making sure there is no oil in the
machine.
4 Twist the flange bolts one by one and remove the flange cover
5 Take off the old filter After taking off the filter, please check if there is seals.
6 Load and tighten the new filter Be careful not to contaminate the filter during installation
7 Install the filter flange cover according to the original
procedure.

11. Equipment Notification

1) Whether the electrical control system is safe and reliable.


2) Whether constant temperature is sensitive, reliable and correct.
3) Whether each seal is broken, leak.
4) Whether the pipe or seal leak gas, oil
5) Whether level control device is reliable.
6) Whether working pressure is normal. If there is abnormity, pls resolve instantly.
2. Take care to vacuum pump oil (roots pump lubricant oil)
1) Oil level should be on the oil mark
2) Pump oil must change if the pump works more than 240 hours
3) If the pump oil is emulsified so serious, please change
3. If need stop the machine more than one month, the machine should be dry place

12.1 HMI trouble shooting
