Application:
ZYD-II Double stages vacuum transformer oil purification machine is our newest research
and development of products of ZYD series of high vacuum double stages vacuum
transformer oil purifier. ZANYO design the ZYD-II machine is on the basis of ZYD-I old
type of transformer oil purifier, comparing with ZYD-I, ZYD-II designed with “T” type oil
evaporation vessel and auto defoaming system., ZYD-II be more faster and more thoroughly
for dewatering, degassing, removing effects of acids and the other.
ZYD-II is professionally designed for purifying electrical insulating oil (transformer oil,
switch oil, mutual oil, cable oil, capacitor oil) in the oil-filled electrical equipment. Through
degasification, dehydration, filtration processes, the machine can remove the dissolved gases
((acetylene, hydrogen, methane etc.) and moisture, solid particulate and contamination
completely, it effectively to improve oil’s dielectric strength and to make sure the electric
device running safely and stable.
Meanwhile, the machine can be used as vacuum oil injecting and vacuum drying equipment
for transformers; Especially for the 110KV-500KV large-scale transformer station, ZYD-II oil
filtration machine is particularly suitable for treating high-grade transformer oil, super-voltage
transformer oil and new transformer oil. And it can be used for filtration live line work onsite.
Vacuum purification online work, unattended operation.
Function:
Removing the moisture. The final treated oil can achieve less than 3ppm,achieve ASTM D1533.
Degassing. The final treated oil can achieve less than 0.1%;
Removing particles.
Features:
Special designed evaporation chamber, the two evaporation chambers make larger space for degassing and dehydration, therefore the
maximum utilization of degassing chamber space.

1.Working principle
Under vacuum and negative pressure state, the water can be vaporized in low temperature, the higher vacuum state; the lower of water boiling
point, the water is vaporized faster. Even under same temperature, water can be moved faster under vacuum state. Oil goes into heater after
purified by primary filter, Oil temperature goes up when heated. Then oil goes in to vacuum separator to become oil film by the film sprayer. In
vacuum separator, water becomes vapor, and discharged by vacuum pump. After that, oil is transferred to fine filter by oil pump.
● Power supply: Red indicator light. when the machine connect right electric power, this light is lighten.
● Emergency stop: Red mushroom button, if there is something wrong with the machine or the machine is in emergency
circumstances, please press the button to stop the machine.
● Alarm Indicator: Red indicator light, when there is something wrong with the machine, this light is twinkling.
● Root Pump: it is standby application button. Normally, Roots pump works automatically.
● Outlet pump: Two selector switch, If machine is in Auto mode, this button dose not work. If machine is in “manual stop mode”, users
choose outlet pump for discharging oil by switching switch.
● Heater 1:it is 35KW. Two selector switch. If machine is in Auto mode, heater1, heater 2, heater 3 works automatically. If machine is in
manual mode, users choose heater1,heater 2 or heater 3 by switching switch.
Note: For ZYD-II-150 model machine, we advise the heating power is from 35KW to 105KW.
● Heater 2: it is 35 KW.
Heater 2: If machine is in Auto mode, If machine is in Auto mode, heater1, heater 2, heater 3 works automatically. If
machine is in manual mode, users choose(or not choose) heater2 by switching switch.
● Heater 3: it is 35 KW. It is the same as Heater 1, and Heater 2.
Shut off (machine according to the)Moisture( Content):To set up the moisture content. When the running mode is "auto" and the moisture
sensor "in use",the PLC detects the oil moisture content which achieves the setting value, the equipment automatically stops
running. setting range 1-99ppm.
Capacity: 9000L/H, you can control the flow rate by MV03 or inlet valveMV02.( Normally, Not recommended to change)

Temperature correction:When the oil actual temperature deviates from the display temperature,to modify this temperature data to be

Double Valve Delay: To set the time from oil upper level detector switch disconnect to to start up the two - way oil solenoid valve; or to set the

Defoaming Time: To control the time of eliminating foam. Factory Settings
Pump out first time: Automatic stop, the time from oil lower level detector switch disconnect to oil drain completely. Factory Settings
Wait (Draining)Time: After an oil discharge time, the waiting time for the second oil discharge. Factory Settings
Pump out second time:The time from the second time to start up oil pump to oil drain completely. Factory Settings
Temperature Sensor:Can be set to "in use" or "not in use" state. Nonuse an external temperature sensor, set to " not in use " state. When set to "
not in use ", the PLC will not operate on the temperature. Factory Settings
Note: when Temperature sensor set to " not in use " state ,heater will not work.
Vacuum Sensor:Can be set to "in use" or "not in use" state. The vacuum sensor installed, set to "in use" , no vacuum sensor installed, set to "not
in use" state. When set to "not in use", the PLC will not detect on the vacuum, at the same time, if there is no vacuum switch installed, roots
pump will not work.
Pressure Sensor: "not in use"
Flow Meter: " not in use "
Moisture Sensor: " not in use"
Voltage sensor: "not in use"
Current sensor: "not in use"
Note: The sensor is an electronic probe, different oil may have different errors. The data can only be used as a reference, not to judge the
absolute value of moisture in the oil.
"Auto" State: When automatic operation, only to start up or stop "auto/vacuum pump" switch, Heater 1,2,3 will be start up automatically. And
then, all operations are automatically controlled by PLC. When the machine is in "auto" state and the moisture sensor(if machine has moisture
sensor) is "in use", the PLC detects the oil moisture content which is lower than the set value, the equipment automatically stops running.

2. All spare parts of the oil purifier have been adjusted before delivery from factory. When machine is sent to working-site, all connecting parts
need to fix again.
3. Lay machine on the ground stable. Connect oil purifier machine and waste oil tank by oil hose. (Note: Machine outlet port connects waste oil
tank inlet port; Oil Purifier’s inlet port connects waste oil tank outlet port)
4. Check all the wire connections of the power panel, oil pump, vacuum pump and heater to ensure reliable connection and insulating.
5. Please check the vacuum pump lubricant level, there is a glass window at the back of the vacuum pump, there are level lines(max and min),
and the lubricant level should be between the two red lines.
Note: you purify the transformer oil; you need to add the transformer oil in it as lubricant oil.
7. Connect the three electric-wires rightly, you can check the status, it should be on Normal. As in picture:

8. Connected to power, it is manual mode. Startup the vacuum pump (“Auto/vp” button) for 2 seconds by manual way, then stop it. There are
running arrowhead labels at the vacuum pump and oil pump, observe the vacuum pump motor running direction, it should keeps same
direction with running arrowhead. If the running direction is not same, please adjust the three wires position until motor works normally.
11.Setup PLC parameter. Only need to set up the temperature. All of the settings are factory setting. (please read carefully of 1.4)

3. operation steps:
3.1 “AUTO” Start:
1. Connect inlet and outlet pipes, close the regeneration system.
5. To open the outlet valve fully and to open inlet valve slowly, then machine will work automatically.
Note 1:
1. Heater1,Heater 2, Heater 3 works automatically.
2. For ZYD-II-150 model machine, we advise the heating power is from 35KW to 105KW.
3. Roots pump works automatically when the vacuum degree reach to -0.09Mpa.
4. After starting up vacuum pump, the machine detects first, if there is some oil in the machine, oil pump will pump out oil from
machine first, then start to work; if there is no oil in the machine, it works directly.)
5. When machine is running, if the pressure of second filter is more than 0.3Mpa, please stop the machine and change the filter (Or

clean it). Otherwise, the pressure protector will stop the machine.
6. Oil pump does not work without oil in.
5. After oil pump working, to startup heater by hand. (you can choose the heater1(35kw) or heater 2(35kw) or heater 3 (35kw)). Then
machine begin to work.
4.2“MANUAL” stop:
1. Shut off all Heaters.
2. Stop “vacuum pump” button.
3. Close inlet Valve MV02, open Vent valve MV07.
4. Switch on the oil pump, and pump out all the oil, then switch off the oil pump.
5. Close outlet valve MV01
6. Power cut.

6. Online working operation(it suitable the transformers which contain 4-5 tons transformer
oil):
1. To close all the valves of the transformer oil purifier machine, and to connect the inlet and outlet pipe with transformer bottom valve and top
valve. As in pictures:

2. To open (transformer oil purifier)inlet valve2, outlet valve1,and inner circulating valve.
3. To start up the vacuum pump, evacuate the oil purifier in vacuum state.
4. When the vacuum value is less than 1000pa, to open slowly transformer’s outlet valve4, oil goes into oil purifier machine.
5. Oil purifier begin to purify the oil(in the transformer oil purifier), through the sightglass, there is no foams in the vacuum chamber.
6. To open the transformer’s inlet valve3
7. To close inner circulating valve slowly, finally fully to close inner circulating valve.

7. Replacing Chemical

8. Notification
1. When the machine works on-site, the machine should be closed to transformer oil or oil pipe. The oil-sucked pipe should be short in order to
reduce the resistance of pipe.
2. Before connect pipes (including oil tank), Must clean all parts and make good seal.
3. Operate as per the process seriously. When start the machine, do not purify the oil until make sure vacuum pump, oil pump, heater works
normal and the inside circulation is good.
4. If the waste oil has much and big mechanical impurities and mass water, please remove the water and impurities at the bottom of waste oil,
and use other purify equipment such as centrifuge purifier / plate pressure purifier to treat first, then use vacuum oil purifier to treat. In that
way, it can extend the lifetime of vacuum oil purifier.
5. When the machine is running, please observe the working situation of oil purifier such as vacuum degree, flow capacity, temperature. And
should to compare the oil quality between waste oil and purified oil such as dielectric strength, water content. In that way, check the
efficiency of oil purifier.
6. When the machine run in winter, please take heat preservation method for pipe, vacuum tank etc. When the machine is worked at the
transformer substation, please comply the safe working rule which is made by electric power industry.

9. Maintenance
1. Worker must be familiar with the general knowledge of vacuum pump, heater and oil pump etc.
2. After run for a long time, when the vacuum pump oil has much water to be emulsification situation, please change the new vacuum pump oil
(1# vacuum pump oil or relevant engine oil instead)
3. if the inlet oil quality become less, the reason is that inlet filter (primary filter) and pipe is jammed or oil pipe leakage. Under this situation,
open each exhaust / drainage valves to let out waste oil and water, then clean the filter and pipe.
4. The vacuum pump’s cooling liquid needs to change when it is dirty.
