Through this interview the panel evaluates the skills and potential of the candidate
with regard to the post he/she has applied for. Interviews usually involve a transfer of
information from interviewee to interviewer, which is usually the primary purpose of the

PRE-REQUISITES FOR AN INTERVIEW

For most of you, facing an interview is like a nightmare. You wish to get hired for the post,
yet you get scared. However, an interview is just a mind game which requires a few right steps to
get through. A few basic things when done right, can lead to amazing opportunities. Below are
stated a few basic requirements you need for any interview to get you ahead.

1. Copies of resume, credentials and photos.

You should not leave any chance of postponing any part of interview because of absence of your
credentials or any document. If any document is missing, it will result in revocation of the
interview.

2. Punctuality.
Your employer can delay an interview but you should never arrive too early or too late for an
interview. Arrive on time even if you have to get up extra early in the morning.

3. Attire - Dress well.

Dressing well is a must but most people get it wrong. In latter part of the capsule, we have
mentioned in detail about what to wear and what not to.

4. Research about the company and position.

Familiarize yourself with the bank before your interview. Thoroughly research the organization’s
position and other basic details before you go for an interview because questions can be based
on this basic information also.

5. Make note of all your achievements

Highlight Your Strengths. Focus on your relevant strengths in the interview. The interviewer or
hiring manager will give you plenty of opportunities to talk about yourself. Recall if you have
performed any leadership role or managed an activity really well. Except for theoretical
knowledge and technical skills, employers look for such managerial skills too.

6. Show your Personality

As important as your skills are, remember that bank tellers constantly deal with the public. The
best way to illustrate the right attitude is to maintain a positive, friendly, conversational and
collected demeanor throughout your interview. This shows that that you can comfortably deal
with the face-to-face communication that is vital to the position.

7. How will you be an asset to them?

Have a clear picture of how you can benefit the organization. Make them know how are different
and more capable than the other candidates.

8. Knowledge of what you have written in your resume.

The majority of questions asked are from what you have mentioned in the resume. More and
more questions arise from what you say. So, be cautious of what you have mentioned in the
resume.
9. Presence of mind.
You ought to have a strong presence of mind while the questions are being showered on you.
Unexpected questions may arise or questions can be framed from what you’ve just said and you
can be puzzled/baffled too. At that time, having a strong presence of mind will help you steal the
answers from your previous experiences.

HOW IS THE ENVIRONMENT IN A BANK?

Working environment is one of the essential human requirements that enable people to
perform their work effectively under defined conditions. It is the quality of the employee’s
workplace environment that has most influence on the level of employee’s motivation and
subsequent performance.

A bank can only achieve its goals if it succeeds in strengthening the bond between its
employees and the bank and by promoting its professional development and satisfaction. Its
objective is to make all of its employees, ambassadors of a performance culture that defines
sustainable growth based on responsible values as a priority. That is why teamwork and team
building are of crucial significance for any bank, because innovative solutions for its clients can
only be found by taking various different perspectives into account.

Every bank goes to great lengths to recruit the most talented young people for it. At the
same time, it makes the best use of the experience and competencies of the older staff. In
addition to fair remuneration and working schemes along with interesting vocational and
supplementary training options, banks also place great value on an equitable work-life balance,
thus ensuring increasingly greater employee satisfaction.

However, this is the brighter side. You have to slog your guts off in order to standout
always. The work pressure is high many a time as your work could indirectly make or mar the
economy of the country. So, this too has to be fed in the brain.

Also, your level of patience would be tested at every step because you encounter situations
wherein you go jittery, sometimes anguish, or maybe emotionally overwhelmed. You need to
take control and make a wise decision regardless of anything or anyone affecting your decision.
WHAT TO WEAR TO A BANK INTERVIEW?

“You can have anything you want in life if you dress for it." — Edith Head

Isn’t it well said???

What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human
contacts are so quick. This is instant language. Proper attire is necessary for any job interview,
and when it comes to bank interview, it is particularly upscale and comfortable.

Most of you neglect this important aspect and then have to face negative outcomes just
because of this. So, need not avoid it and make sure you wear something that falls within the
realm of business casual.

a. Formal dress code for men:

 Men can opt for plain light-colored formal shirt and tie. Trouser should be plain and of
dark shade. In winters, wear a formal suit or blazer of solid color.
 In order to avoid any mishap, get your clothes cleaned and ready a day before the
interview.
 The tie you’ll be wearing has to be simple and not too flashy.
 Your shirt should be properly tucked-in.
 Shoes should be well polished.
 Make sure your hair is neat and clean, if required get a hair-cut.
 Avoid wearing jeans and T-shirts.
 The nails and teeth should be neat and clean.
 Take care of your body odor. Use a talcum/deodorant after your bath.
 Try not to wear sneakers, noisy shoes, or very high heels for an interview.
 Never bring chewing gum, coffee, soda iPod etc. to the interview.
 Most importantly, wear a smile on your face.

b. Formal dress code for women:

 In India, women are often confused when it comes to dressing for an interview. The
reason is they unable to decide whether to opt for western outfits or the traditional
Indian formals. And since most of the companies hiring in India allow both of them, so it
is suggested to choose the style in which you feel comfortable.
 If you opt for Indian formals, use plain cotton salwar kameez with plain dupatta.
 Avoid low-cut necklines. Prefer light pastel shades. Don’t use very colorful clothes.
 If you opt for western formals, use plain light-colored blouse (i.e. shirt or any formal ) with
formal trouser or skirt of conservative length, up to the knee. Prefer dark shades for the
trouser. In winters, a blazer or formal suit can be used.
 Avoid too much make-up.
 Go for simple jewelry.
 Use low heels so you feel comfortable.

option is RTI which is also a good source sir.

M1: Kavita you are missing something. Do you know the term ‘market size’? While doing
marketing research, you need to define market size. You can easily get this information from
websites and your collector office and don’t use RTI. If you are using it…it means you are
degrading the reputation of bank
