Project Overview

This project constitutes 35% of the overall mark for this subject and requires students to complete
a written report and an Excel file. The submission deadline for the written report and spreadsheet
analysis is 11:59 pm on Nov 6th, 2024 (Singapore time). Late submissions will result in penalties.

The submission for individual projects should encompass the following components:

1. Written Presentation:
The document should follow double spacing, 1" margins, and use a font size of at least 11 points.
A cover page is mandatory. The project's word limit is 2,500 words, excluding the executive
summary, cover page, table of contents, charts, headings, Excel-imported tables, and appendices.
Non-compliant projects will not be accepted. Citations should adhere to the Harvard referencing
style. Students unfamiliar with Harvard referencing can seek assistance from Library staff.

2. Excel File
The Excel file must include a spreadsheet titled "Data Note," containing download links for the
required data. Additional spreadsheets should present calculations and estimations that yield the
results featured in the report file. Each spreadsheet should be labelled according to the relevant
requirement number, such as "Section 1," "Section 2," and so on.

Project Requirements
For this assessment task, each group member will select a company listed on the ASX Stock
Exchange from the Energy industry. The available options are: Woodside Energy Group Ltd
(WDS), Beach Energy Limited (BPT), Cue Energy Resources Limited (CUE), New Hope
Corporation Limited (NHC), Whitehaven Coal Limited (WHC). For instance, if there are 5
members in Group 1, they will each choose one of the 5 ASX-listed companies. The chosen
companies must be agreed upon by all group members to ensure suitability for comparison and
analysis, which is vital for the final report and presentation in Assessment Task 3.

Before finalizing a company choice, ensure that the necessary information and data are accessible
for analysis by checking market and company information on Morningstar DatAnalysis (JCU
library login).

This project will enable a thorough assessment of the chosen company's financial condition,
industry position, and future outlook. The report should encompass the following sections (again
please note that most tables and figures in the report must be extracted from the Excel file):
