Methodology

This part of the research presents the research design used, the sampling technique applied, the
research instrument, data gathering procedure and data analysis.

Research Design

In this study, ________________________________________research was used wherein the

researchers observed a phenomenon and attempted to__________________________________. In this
instance, the research started from ___________________________________________. The present
study tried to explain ______________________________.

Sampling Technique

The random sampling technique was utilized to determine the number of respondents in this
study. The researchers first identified the strand and section of the respondents. The target
respondents using the master list of students during the first semester, School Year 2022-2023. Table 1
below shows the population and sample for this study.

Table 1

Population and Sample

Grade and Section Population Sample %

38 10 26
40 10 25
40 10 25
Total 118 30

A total of 30 respondents were selected to answer the survey questionnaire of the researchers.
The respondents were also contacted through their University of Makati account provided by the
Student Supreme Government with a prior request.

The Research Instrument

The research instrument was developed by the researchers and properly content-validated by
the research adviser by scrutinizing each question if this can help answer the specific problems stated in
the statement of the problem. The questionnaire to be used in this study comprises two parts. Part I
contains the demographic profile of the respondents which consists of gender, age and section. Part II
involves questions to be answered by the respondents through the use of a 5-point Likert Scale. The
scale of 5 being the highest and scale 1 being the lowest that describes the (degree, extent, level,
seriousness, etc.) of the items being asked. The instructions are provided in the survey questionnaire.

Data Gathering Procedure

The researchers followed the following steps in conducting the present study:
1. The researchers identified the respondents through the master list of students kept in the
Student Supreme Government office.
2. The researchers notified the target respondents and provided them the copy of the survey
questionnaire online.
3. The respondents answered the questionnaire and submitted it to the Group Chat of the
researchers. Through the chat, the researchers assured the respondents that their answers
will be kept confidential.
4. The researchers tallied and tabulated the answers of the respondents.
5. The researchers prepared (charts, tables, graphs) for presentation of the data collected.

Data Analysis

The following statistical tools were used to measure the collected data in order to provide
meanings and to find out the answer of the research hypothesis:

Percentage was used to describe the demographic profile of respondents and the sample of
respondents per section.

Mean was used to determine the average ratings of the respondents in each question given in
the questionnaire. Weighted mean was used in a Likert Scale measurement. This measurement was
used in problem 1 and 2.

Standard Deviation was used to determine the distances of the mean scores of the respondents
from the mean in problem 1 and 2

The Pearson Product- Moment Coefficient of Correlation ( r) was utilized to determine the
(association, relationship, effect, influence) of__________on the __________.(2 variables of the
research)

The t-test was used to determine the existence of difference between the variables
__________________________ and __________________________.

Analysis of Variance was used to determine the significant differences of ( 3 or more variables)

The verbal interpretations of the Pearson r scale are:

+1 perfect positive correlation
+ 0.75 to 0.99 very strong positive correlation
+ 0.50 to 0.74 strong positive correlation
+0.25 to 0.49 moderate positive relationship
+ 0.01 to 0.24 very small positive correlation
0 no correlation
-0.01 to -0.24 very small negative correlation
-0.25 to -0.49 moderate negative correlation
-0.50 to -0.74 strong negative correlation
-0.75 to -0.99 very strong negative correlation
-1 perfect negative correlation
