RCSDVD2009 ========================================== Eliminating the stupid ProtexisLicensing: After install, do this: 1) Go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services and stop ProtexisLice nsing v2 (or just press Start-> Run -> services.msc and press Enter) Stop the service and put on Disable. 2) Now go to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Protexis\License Service you will find 2 files: a) PSIService_2.exe (delete this one) b) PSIKey_2.dll rename to PsiClient.dll, then copy this new rename file PsiClien t.dll and paste in C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2, and rep lace the existing file. 3) Next go to Start-> Run -> and type: sc delete PSI_SVC_2 <press enter> Now ProtexisLicensing will be removed from services list. d) Go to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\ and delete the folder "Protexis" (and its subdirectory \Protexis\License Service\ obviously) 5) Thats all, enjoy in program without the annoying and useless service! ========================================== Other things that can go: I stopped in task manager and then renamed the following files in the program di rectory because they're more of a memory-hogging annoyance than anything else:

CorelIOMonitor.exe MediaCataloger.exe If you see one of this, go to: C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 and search this files: CorelIOMonitor.exe MediaCataloger.exe rename this files for anything, example: CorelIOMonito_r.exe MediaCataloge_r.exe Some people might like them though so to each their own. The first controls the Corel File Shell activities and god only knows what the Media Cataloger does besides take up memory and slow down the computer!
