Republic Day Speech
Good morning to all the people present here today. I am honoured to speak on
the occasion of Republic Day, a very auspicious day for all of us. we gather
here to celebrate the anniversary of our country's Constitution coming into
effect, and to honour the sacrifices of those who fought for our freedom.
Republic Day, celebrated on the 26th of January every year, marks when the
Constitution of India came into effect in 1950, making it a free republic. The
Constitution of India, the longest-written constitution of any country in the
world, was drafted by Dr B.R. Ambedkar and a team of brilliant minds. It
guarantees fundamental rights to all its citizens, such as equality, freedom,
and justice, regardless of their religion, race, caste, or gender. As Dr. B.R
Amebedkar had said, "The Constitution is not a mere lawyers' document, it is
a vehicle of life, and its spirit is always the spirit of age."
The Constitution of India is not just a book; it is our guide to making India a
better place.
It reminds us of the immense sacrifices made by our freedom fighters who
fought against British colonial rule for many years. This day is a tribute to their
sacrifices, struggles and bloodshed. We must never forget the brave hearts
who fought for our freedom.
Women's contribution to the freedom battle was an essential catalyst in
making the country independent and free. Many notable women figures like
Sarojini Naidu, Sucheta Kriplani and Aruna Asaf Ali among others dedicated
their whole lives to their lives to the cause of India's freedom. So, let us
celebrate their achievements, and recognise their contribution which continues
to inspire generations.
On this day, we witness grand parades at the capital of the country, New
Delhi, Rajpath. The soldiers marching at one beat and bright and colourful
dances from various states become a spectacular sight for the audience. The
parade showcases India’s defence capability and cultural and social heritage.
As we celebrate this day, let's pledge to uphold our Constitution's values and
contribute to our nation's growth and development. We must work towards
making India a better place for all its citizens. India is a land of diverse
cultures, religions and traditions. We must build a society that stands for
justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity as enshrined in our constitution.
Republic Day is a day of pride, reflection, and celebration. It is a day to
remember our past, celebrate our present, and look forward to a bright future.
Lastly, let's celebrate this day by committing ourselves to building a stronger,
more prosperous and independent India.
Thank You.
