1. CLEAN THE WHOLE HOUSE ONE TASK AT A TIME.

Cleaning is much more effective if you pick one task (dusting, vacuuming, mopping)
and so the same task in every room if the house.I always start with dusting and tyding
any clutter or things that haven't been put away.I pick one end of the house and
choose a room and work my way through the entire house methodically dusting all
furniture sufaces aunaments, Photo frames, etc.

I then move onto the next task vacuuming again choosing one end of the house to
start at (normally the same starting point as the dusting) and following the quickest
and easiest pathway through the whole house making sure to lift or move
obstructions out of the way.

Now I will move onto deep cleaning all the wet areas. I like to start with the ensuite
because this generally doesn't take as long as a main bathroom. Once ensuite is done
it's time to move onto the main bathroom and toilet/s.

Next is the kitchen and I always start cleaning from top to bottom no matter what task
I am carrying out1. Benchtops, splash backs, stovetops, appliances, cupboard doors
and draws leaving the sink and tapware to do last.

Only thing left to do now is mop all the floors and clean the laundry. Again choosing
one end of the house however this time I like to start at the front door because by the
time I get to the other end of the house the floors by the front entrance should be dry
enough to walk on once ready to leave. I will give the laundry appliances and any
benchtops and tiles a wipe over before I dispose of the dirty water used to mop all the
floors. I then give the laundry sink a quick rinse to wash away any dirty water from the
bucket give the laundry a mop, before rinsing the mop clean. I give the sink a quick
rinse to wash away any dirt that may have been left from the mop and bucket. Give the
sink a quick wipe over with disinfectant, rinse then towel dry the laundry sink and
tapware.

2. GATHER ALL CLEANING PRODUCTS AND TOOLS IN A CADDY

Whether it's a caddy, bucket, or tote having everything you need to clean in a portable
place makes it much easier to get the tasks done. You don't want to be wasting time
looking for your tools whilst cleaning and you need not worry about having to gather
them all up for your next clean either. I keep all my tools and products in a bucket it
makes transporting them much easier as well.

3. DONT FORGET TO ROUTINELY WASH YOUR CLEANING TOOLS

It can often be overlooked the cleaning and maintenance of the tools we use to clean
with. Using a dirty mop or vacuum bag or canister is much less effective and be cause
for creating more time being spent on cleaning. Rinse the mop once finished and hang
to dry. Empty the vacuum cleaner after each use even if it is not full and give or your
sponges/clothes a rinse and leave to air dry as this helps stop bacterria and ecoli and
put any microfibre clothes in the washing machine with no detergents and these
shorten the life span of the microfibre cloth.

4. MAKE LEANING A GROUP ACTIVITY

Make cleaning a team effort. This is one very effective way to get the house cleaning
done fast. Schedule a time in advance with your family and assign tasks to each
person. Working together can add some fun to cleaning especially if youre trying to
get the kids involved because if they're anything like mine they may not want to help
so turning the tasks into a game won't feel much like a chore and before you know it
your house will be sparkling in no time
