INTRODUCTION

 Aziz Cross project is a signal free interchange with partial clover

leaf system and two additional directional ramps.

Clover leaf interchange Partial Clover leaf

interchange with two
directional ramps instead
of loops
INTRODUCTION

 There are normally 32 conflicts at any interchange which are

completely resolved at Aziz Cross.

CONCRETE PILES

A pile is a vertical structural element of a deep foundation which

transfers super structure loads to the earth farther down from the
surface to a subsurface layer.
PILE CAP

PILE CAP
Pile cap is a thick
reinforced concrete mat that
rests on concrete piles that
have been casted into ground. Pier
concrete pile cap distributes the
load of the superstructure (from
piers and abutments into the
Pile Cap
piles.

PILE CAP AND PIER

PIER
A pier is a reinforced, Box Girder

raised structure in form of

pillars typically supported by
well-spaced pile caps. It
transfers the loads from deck to

pile caps.
For this project, special shape
Pier Shaft
of pier is adopted. It as two
components
1. Pier Shaft as column
2. Pier Canopy as transom
ABUTMENTS
Abutment refers to the substructure at the ends of a bridge span. It
supports;
 Super Structure load
 Live Load
 Lateral Earth Pressure

REINFORCED EARTH WORK
 Reinforced earth wall is earth retaining structure and provided at
approaches (from road level to bridge level).
 The key components of a Reinforced Earth wall are geo-strips,
granular backfill and precast concrete facing panels.
 The frictional bond between the backfill supports the lateral earth
pressure and stresses induced due to traffic load.

PRE-STRESSED BOX GIRDERS
 An optimal and most efficient design of beam is box girder. A box girder
consists of enclosed tube with multiple walls.
 The advantage of a box girder is that it better resists torsion. Having
multiple vertical webs, it can also carry more load than an I-shape girder
of equal height.
