ABSTRACT

The Keezhadi Museum in Tamil Nadu, India showcases the remarkable archaeological dis-
coveries from the Keezhadi excavation site, providing insights into an ancient civilization
that thrived over 2,000 years ago. The museum aims to preserve, study, and share knowledge
about this civilization. It exhibits a diverse collection of artifacts, including pottery, jewel-
ry, coins, tools, and architectural remnants, offering valuable insights into ancient life. The
museum features interactive exhibits, multimedia presentations, and virtual reconstructions,
creating an immersive experience for visitors. It supports education, research, and cultural
tourism,
contributing to local pride and identity. The Keezhadi Museum bridges the gap between the
past and present, fostering a deeper understanding of our shared human history.
THESIS STATEMENT

This thesis work of mine is an humble attempt to totally redefine the very definition of a
museum.Combining ancient and aesthetic culture of the TAMILIANS with today’s contem-
porary architecture, I present..THAAMILI : A li(v)fe experience of the infamous Keezhadi
dynasty. Keezhadi is the recent worldwide sensation site in the world of archeological stud-
ies, which has solid evidence to prove that this was the backbone of culture and identity for
Tamilians. The ASI conducted several archeological surveys and excavations in Keezhadi,
which is nearby to Madurai city flanked by the tributary of Vaigai river. This museum’s sole
purpose is to propose a sense of rejuvenation and relapse of the forgotten culture of this
homeland. Aiding this purpose, one can see that my design has been implemented with var-
ious aspects of the modern day materials and projecting the past culture without damaging
the same. After exploring my design, the people who have visited my museum will have the
combined effect of feeling proud and at the same time feel a little bit melancholic, since the
reality will dawn upon them that their culture and history must never be forgotten at any cost
