    IMPORTANT

    Technical Memo
    In regard to the previous technical memo concerning the internal battery of the ViZiTouch
    as an essential element of the fire pump controller.

    The internal battery of the ViZiTouch should be suitably charged to assure proper functionality.
    If the controller has been stored or unpowered for many weeks, the battery charge may not be
    sufficient at the time of installation and first operation. The controller is shipped with a partial
    charge on the battery, but it is important to note that due to the nature of batteries, they will
    discharge over a period of time when not in the charge mode.

    Our R&D department committed their efforts to improve the situation detailed in our previous
    technical memo and have successfully resolved this issue with a simple software update. Please
    follow the instructions and link below to download the software update that will be needed.

    Update should be done with a USB memory stick dedicated for this software only. Please
    have one or two USB memory sticks with only the two files pictured below (unzipped and not in
    a folder) for every technician.

    After downloading the software update onto a dedicated USB stick please follow the simple
    procedure below:

    1. IMPORTANT FIRST STEP - Insert the dedicated USB memory stick into the front
    external USB port on the ViziTouch BEFORE powering on the controller.
    2. Once inserted, then power on the controller.
    3. Regardless of the current battery status, update the software following the usual
    procedure keeping the controller powered on during the update until completed.
    4. Once the Software Version 2.7.4 is installed, please confirm this by pressing >Config
    (Gear Icon), >Advanced Settings and finally >Factory Settings. View top right of Factory
    Settings page to see Software Version installed.
    5. Carry on as usual with your start-up.

    We suggest updating all ViziTouch V2 Electric Controllers (with or without transfer switch) with
    this new software. There is no need to make a special trip to a job site for a controller that is
    already in operation; however, as you come across any older or in-service controllers, you may
    update their software at that time.

    The only exception to this procedure would be a project with low zone, mid zone or high zone
    intercommunications. Please consult factory for specific software in these circumstances.

    All new controllers are currently being shipped with the updated 2.7.4 software installed. Please
    contact us if you require any further explanation or assistance in this matter.
