Introduction
The Resume Builder is a handy tool that makes creating professional resumes easy.
Available online, it lets users enter their personal and professional details, pick from a
range of stylish templates, and create a polished resume in PDF format. This app takes
the hassle out of writing resumes, combining the ease of digital technology with the need
for a professional document.
Users can easily enter their information, such as personal details, education, work
experience, skills, and achievements. The platform shows a real-time preview of the
resume, so users can see how it looks in different templates before finishing it. Once
happy with the result, users can download their resume as a PDF, which works with most
job application systems.
2. Problem Statement
When it comes to creating a professional resume, job seekers often face a number of
challenges. Traditional methods of resume creation can be time-consuming and
frustrating, with limited design options and the need for specialized software. This can
make it difficult for individuals to effectively showcase their qualifications and
experiences in a visually appealing and professional manner.
While there are many online tools available for creating resumes, they often fall short in
terms of usability and customization. Many platforms offer limited templates and lack
real-time preview capabilities, making it difficult for users to visualize the final product
as they input their information. This can be frustrating for those with limited technical
skills, as manually adjusting formatting and layout can be a time-consuming process.

3. Objective
Some of the objectives of system are as follow:
• To help job seekers create professional and visually appealing resumes that effectively
showcase their skills, qualifications, and experience.
• To save time and simplify the process of drafting a resume by offering user-friendly
interfaces and pre-formatted sections.
4. Methodology
We are going to use the waterfall methodology while building the website. This project have
specific documentation , ample time, fixed requirements, well-understood technology. So we
are using waterfall model.

a. Requirement Identification
Requirement Identification is the foundation of the Waterfall model, where the Project’s
scope, functionalities and constraints are determined. This phase is critical as it directly
influences the subsequent stages of development.
i. Study of an existing system: To understand the requirements for the Resume

Builder project, it’s essential to analyze existing systems. This involves studying
current resume builder tools, understanding their features, identifying strengths and
weakness and gathering insights on user needs and market trends.
Steps in studying the Existing System:

a. Market Research:
- Identify popular resume builder tools in the market.
- Analyze their market position, user base and customer reviews.
b. Feature Analysis:
- List of the features offered by existing systems.
- Evaluate the usability , performance and design of these features.
c. User Feedback:
- Collect feedback from actual users through surveys, reviews and forums.
- Understand the pain points and unmet needs of users.
ii. Requirement Collection: Based on the study of existing systems, the next step is to
collect and documents the requirements for the new Resume Builder.
Steps in Requirement collection:
a. Stakeholder interviews:
- Conduct interviews with potential users.
- Engage with HR professionals and employers to understand what they lookfor in
resumes.
b. Workshops and Brainstorming Sessions:
- Organize workshops with the development team, designers and stakeholders to
brainstorm features and functionalities.
- Use these sessions to identify must have features and innovative ideas.

c. Surveys and Questionnaires:
- Distribute surveys to a broader audience to gather quantitative
data on user preferences and requirements.
- Analyze survey results to identify common themes and
priorities.
b. Feasibility Study
Technical Feasibility:
 Software Requirements: The project requires knowledge and expertise in web

development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and possibly backend
frameworks like Node.js or Django for server-side logic.
 PDF Generation: Implementing a feature for generating PDF resumes may require
familiarity with libraries or APIs such as jsPDF or wkhtmltopdf.
 Security Measures: Incorporating robust security measures to protect user data

requires understanding of authentication mechanisms, encryption techniques, and best
practices for secure web development.
Operational Feasibility:
 User Interface Design: Designing an intuitive and user-friendly interface is

essential for the success of the resume builder. Conducting user testing and
gathering feedback during development can help ensure operational feasibility.
 Maintenance and Support: Establishing procedures for ongoing

maintenance, updates, and user support is crucial for ensuring the smooth
operation of the resume builder after deployment.
 Scalability: The system should be designed to handle potential increases in user

traffic and data storage as the platform grows in popularity.
