Synodontis batensoda , the inverted wolf fish , is a species of mochokid upside-down
catfish .It is unevenly distributed in inland water across Africa from Senegal to Ethiopia ,
and is also known as a close shave or giant inverted wolf fish .It was originally described by
Eduard Rü ppell in 1832 in the composition `` lengthiness of the description and figure of
respective new Fish , in the Nile .p1-14 '' .The species is now regionally nonextant in
Northern Africa , but used to be found in Cairo during flood lamp .It can be found in lot of
the White Nile River , blue air Nile , and the Baro Rivers in northeastward Africa , and the
Tchad , Niger , Senegal , and Republic of The Gambia river drainage basin in western
Africa .It occurs in slow-moving pee and marshes bordering large rivers .Water
temperatures in its native habitat range of a function from 23 to 27 °C ( 73 to 81
°F ) .Synodontis batensoda is silver-green to blue-grey with mordant barbels and a blackish
underside ( thus its specific figure , from Arabic ‫ بطن السوداء‬bațn sawdā ' = `` black belly
'' ) .Occasionally , soul can be reddish brown .juvenile display large dark-colored blotches on
the sides separated by pale darn .It has 39–42 lamella rakers rather than 7–33 as in former

membranes , though these are not as all-embracing as in Hemisynodontis .The caudal fin is
forked , with each lobe ending in a point .Like former Synodontis coinage , this Fish almost
always swims upside down .This fish may farm up to 50 centimeter ( 20 in ) thallium and
weigh up to 1.5 kilograms ( 3.3 pound ) .This omnivorous fish provender on plankton , algae
, detritus , control surface insects , chironomid larvae , benthic crustaceans , and molluscs .It
is oviparous and venomous .In the aquarium hobby , it is peaceful and hardy fish that is
compatible with even minuscule fish , but may be bullied by more strong-growing
