1. a) The radii of two circular cylinder are in the ratio of 1: 2 and their heights are in the ratio of
3:4. Calculate the ratio of their curved surfaces.

2. Divide by long division method: - 2x3 + x 2- 5x + 4 by 2x + 3
3. The length, breadth and height of a room is 15m, 10m, and 5m respectively. Find the cost of
Painting the four walls at the rate of Rs. 1000 per m 2.
4. Find the simple interest of Rs. 12000 for 2 years at the rate of 12% p.a. Also, find how much
amount a person will get after 2 years.
5. A hostel with 100 students had enough food to last for 20 days. 20 students left the hostel. For
how long the food will last?
OR
A shopkeeper raised the marked price by 30% and offered a discount @ 40% .Find the actual
discount offered by the shopkeeper keeping in view of the original marked price.
6. The present value of a LED T.V.is RS. 60000 .The depreciation of T.V. is 10% per year. What
will be the value of T.V. after 2 years?

1. A rectangular swimming pool 30m long, 20m wide and 1.5m deep is to be tiled .The size of each
tile is 50cm × 50cm .Find out the number of tiles required.
2. Sunil invested Rs. 50000 for 18 months at the rate of 16% p.a. compounded half –yearly .Find the
compound interest.

3. Anoop started constructing his house in a village .There was too much shortage of water in that
village.so he thought of constructing a well to meet the need of water .He discussed this matter with
his wife. Anupam and both of them decided to get a well dug. They hired few labourers for this work.
They guided the labourer that the well should be 20 m deep and its diameter should be 7m .Further
they guided the labourer that the earth to be dug out should not be wasted.
Based upon this information answer the following questions:-
