How To Customize Templates
By customizing an Oracle delivered template, it allows you to alter it meet your own requirements and have any
process which uses the report, to use your new version.
**Please do not make any changes outside of the Custom folder on the BIP server, as this will impact the delivery of
patches to the seeded templates and make impact the successful running of various processes.**
For this guide we will take the example of customizing the UK BACS template shipped within the EFT Report.
However the same approach can be taken for any template which you’d like to customize.
This can be done one of two ways. If you have the ‘xmlpserver’ URL then can access the BIP server directly, logging in
with a user who has BI Author privilege. The second way to access the BIP server is via the Fusion application’s
navigator.
3) This will open a new tab which will be the ‘analytics’ URL of the BIP server, change this to ‘xmlpserver’
Customizing Report
4) You will then need to select ‘Catalog’ – found on the right hand side of the blue menu
5) Navigate down the catalog as shown below, to find the EFT report.
6) Click on ’More’ and then ‘Customize’
As you can see from the graphic to the right, we now have two
Payment Distribution folders. One is /Shared
Folders/Custom/Human Capital
Management/Payroll/Payment Distribution
Any report which resides in the Custom folder will not overwrite
the original report or template, but you will only be able to view
the customized version of a report, regardless of which location
you view it.
7) Click on Edit if you aren’t automatically put into the EFT report. Ensure you are in the ‘Custom’ directory
9) Save a copy of this template, as you can then base any changes from it.
10) Click on ‘View a list’, found on the right hand side of the screen
11) Make a note of the values set here for the BACS template.
12) Click to go back to ‘View Thumbnails’ rather than the List view and delete the UK BACS template.
Adding customized template
14) Select Upload and enter the below details, which match the table from step 11.
Once the new template is uploaded, any process which uses the UK BACS template will automatically use your new
customized template. If you ever need to revert back to the Oracle seeded template, you can just delete the report
from your customized folder and the original one will still exist in /Shared Folders/Human Capital
Management/Payroll/Payment Distribution/
