MCB is an automatic switch that opens when excessive current flows
through the circuit. It can be reclosed without any manual replacement.
FEATURES OF MCB
TYPES OF MCB
Type B MCB
Type C MCB
Type D MCB
Type K MCB
Type Z MCB
If the circuit is overloaded for a long time, the bi-metallic strip becomes
overheated and deformed. This deformation of Bi-metallic strip causes,
displacement of latch point. The moving contact of the MCB is arranged by
means of spring pressure, with this latch point, that a little displacement of
latch causes, release of spring and makes the moving contact to move for
opening the MCB.
The current coil or trip coil is placed so that during short circuit fault
the magneto-motive force (mmf) of the coil causes its plunger to hit
the same latch point and make the latch to be displaced. Again, when
operating lever of the miniature circuit breaker is operated by hand,
that means when MCB goes off position manually, the same latch
point is displaced as a result moving contact separated from fixed
contact in the same manner.
There are many applications of SMPS. They are used
in the motherboard of computers, mobile phone
chargers, HVDC measurements, battery chargers,
central power distribution, motor vehicles, consumer
electronics, laptops, security systems, space stations,
etc.
Relays
Relays are the switches which aim at closing and opening
the circuits electronically as well as electromechanically. It
controls the opening and closing of the circuit contacts of an
electronic circuit. When the relay contact is open (NO), the
relay isn’t energize with the open contact. However, if it is
closed (NC), the relay isn’t energize given the closed contact.
However, when energy (electricity or charge) is supplied, the
states are prone to change.
FUNCTION OF RELAY:
Expand the control range: Amplification: Integrated signal
Automatic, remote control, and monitoring:
WORKING AND CONSTRUCTION OF PANEL
T- CONNECTOR AND MCB’s CONNECTIONS
•Firstly we get 3 phase supply and a neutral from the main switch then 3 phase
supply is supplied to the control panel , where a switch is present to on or off
the panel. We have 3 phases which is represented in red , blue and yellow in
color.
•Then we have 4 sets of t-connectors , in 1st set of t-connector, a phase is connected and in
another set 2nd phase is connected , similarly 3rd set of t -connector is connected with 3rd
phase and the 4th set is supplied with neutral.
•From all the sets of t-connectors all 3 individual phase’s wire is brought out and connected to
the 1st 3 pole MCB whose rating is of 63 amperes . Then from the 1 st set of t -connector a
phase is brought and connected to the 2 nd 2 pole MCB whose rating is 6 amp and supplied
with neutral from the 4th set of t- connector. Then from 2nd and 4 set of connector a phase and
neutral is connected to the 3rd 2 pole MCB respectively.
• Another 2 pole MCB is supplied with phase and neutral from 3 rd set and 4th set of t connector
respectively. 6th MCB is also connected with a phase and neutral by 1 st and 4th set of t-
connector respectively.
From MCB 1 the connections is given to the SERVO MOTOR DRIVE which is just placed
below the MCB’s and CONTACTORS . servo motor drives makes 600V direct current from
the alternating current , servo motor has 3 more drives ,from the main servo drive it
transfers 600V dc to other three drives through a bus bar .
From the first servo drive connection is given to the working part of the cnc machine named
as SPINDLE, which is used while making a gear . servo drive help in providing data to the
system and vice versa.
From drive 2nd connection is given to the TORQUE and X co-ordinate which is an
moving part of up and down of the CNC machine.
From the 3rd drive connection is given to the Y AND Z co- ordinates of the CNC machine
which are slant and horizontally moving parts.
*MCB 3 is connected to the switch mode power supply which giver 24v dc current to
the system
*MCB 4 is connected to the service socket which is additionally added in the panel for the
laptop or for any external device connection.
*MCB 5 is connected to the both of the fans assembled in the panel for the cooling.
*MCB 6 is connected to the machine lights present is CNCmachine while operating it
•We have total 4 contactors in use. From t-connector 1,2 and 3 each individual phase is
get connected to the first CONTACTOR then from the first CONTACTOR other 3
contactors are connected using looping.
Then the output of the contactors are connected to MPCB’s which are assembled right to
the contactors.
•MPCB are used to protect the motors from the over load and short circuit and switch off
the connection by tripping .
we have 4 MPCB’s in used , the outputs of the contactors are given to the HYDROLIC
MOTOR , MIXTURE MOTOR , LUBRICATION MOTOR and SPINDLE FAN
respectively
A chord is connected from the system to the input output card helping in getting
information about the inputs we are giving and about the outputs we are getting . Input
sources includes PUSH BUTTON , LIMIT SWITCH , PRESSURE SWITCH , LEVEL
SWITCH etc. and output sources includes CONTRACTOR FOR MOTOR and
SOLENOID VALVE.
CONCLUSION:
The industrial training at BHARAT GEARS LIMITED has given an chance to
brush the theoretical knowledge of three and half years into the very effective
practical knowledge. In this training period I go through some electrical
components practically which was just in theory for me in my college period.
Training enhanced my knowledge regarding the electrical components and
adaptation of them in daily life. Here i understood the practical approach towards
the electricity and I can conclude that electricity and electrical parts play a vital
and important role in our day to day life.
