NIGERIAN ENGINEERING ASSOCIATION

1. Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)


Is an apex body in charge of engineering in Nigeria established by the
Federal Government of the country by decree 55 of 1970 and amended by
Decree 27 of 1992 which is now Engineers (registration) Act. COREN as the
only body to regulate the practice of engineering in all aspects, and areas of
expertise in the country. The body is also in charge of the training of
engineers to be better experts and professionals in their field. They also
make it mandatory for every engineer, technologist, engineering crafts
personnel and all engineering technicians to be duly registered under the
body.
2. Association of professional women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN):
Consist of professional female engineers in al disciplines of engineering and
is a catalyst for advancement of women in the engineering profession
towards national and global technological development.
3. Association for consulting Engineering in Nigeria (ACEN)
Is a professional body that tends to promote the growth and improve the
standard of consulting engineering firms in the country, and serve as a
unified voice for the profession
4. Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geoscience (COMEG)
Is a regulatory body for all professionals and firms with focused on mining
engineering, geoscience and metallurgy.
5. Material Science and Technology Society of Nigeria (MSN)
Is a professional membership association saddled for the development of all
aspects of the science, engineering, technology and use of materials.
6. Nigeria Society of Engineers(NSE)
Is a unified body and umbrella organization for engineering profession in
Nigeria.
7. Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering (NATE)
This is organize and develop as a professional body of international
standard for technologist and engineers in th country.
8. Nigeria Tunneling Association (NTA)
This is to develop and technically advanced design, construction and use of
tunnel and underground space in Nigeria.
9. Nigerian Association of Engineering Craftmen(NAES)
Was established with the aim of representing its members as well as
advancing the theory and practice of engineering in all the fields of
engineering crafts.
