Along with the rapid development of internet and mobile devices, the integration of navigation systems
and travel service apps has become very popular. Based on the technology acceptance model (TAM) and
external variables, experiential marketing and mobility, this study applies mobile devices in convenient
guide services to develop an online-purchase behavioural model for travellers when using the travel
app. Surveys are used to investigate travellers through convenience sampling, and a total of 495 valid
surveys were collected for a rate of 96%. The study data yielded the following findings: (1) experiential
marketing positively influences purchase intentions through perceived usefulness and use context; (2)
mobility does not positively influence purchase intentions without through perceived usefulness and use
context; (3) perceived usefulness and use context positively influence purchase intentions; (4) use
context plays a mediating role between perceived usefulness and purchase intentions. Finally, this study
proposes a current travel model of mobile guide app services, and provides managerial implications for
travel agencies and app developers.

The paper discusses a tour guide mobile application which uses cloud computing, machine learning and
Augmented Reality (AR) to give the user an amazing experience on tourism. This application would guide
users through an appropriate route to a traveler's destination while suggesting recommended
attractions through the route. Tourists would also be given the opportunity to listen to a narration about
certain monuments while they are walking or driving through the suggested route. Additionally, one
from the available two of the AR features can be useful when a tourist wants to find which direction a
certain attraction is. This feature would be especially useful on a high vantage point allowing the user to
enjoy several attractions from the same place all the while receiving interesting facts about them. Also,
it would contain various details about that said attraction. Other feature of AR is on 3D object modelling
that helps the user to get the experience of Point of Interest (POI).

This paper is about a flutter-based application which integrates different functionalities into a single app
hence helping the tourists get important information and functionalities at the same place without the
need to explore multiple applications. This application offers 3 main services. The first service does
image recognition with the help of google cloud vision API and provides information about the
recognized tourist attraction using web scraping techniques. The second functionality of the app is
planning a trip which provides content-based recommendation and optimal route generation by solving
the travelling salesman problem (TSP) using genetic algorithm. Both these services are implemented as
Rest API in Django. The third major feature is finding a tour guide virtually and obtaining information
from them directly. Thus, also creating job opportunities for many tour guides.

A large amount of information has been provided by the increasing volume of user generated content,
through social networking services like reviews, comments and past experiences. Online review has
become one of the most influential information sources for consumer decision-making. This information
is freely accessible online and used to support tourist decision-making process. Despite several studies
conducted on tourist online reviews, there have been limited studies exploring tourist reviews’ ratings
for 1-5 reviews star in predicting tourist response to an attraction. This study aims to predicting tourist
ratings based on the tourist textual response (reviews) made on Petronas Twin Tower in Kuala Lumpur
that is freely available on TripAdvisor. This is devised by building a predictive classification model that
predicts the rating a tourist will possibly give. A qualitative approach is adopted where data miner tool
was to collect tourist reviews from TripAdvisor; and the reviews dataset was preprocessed in
Rapidminer to generate sentiment values which was fed to the models after some transformation. The
sentiments gained/produced is utilized to compare which classification model gives the best prediction
in terms of accuracy. The result showed that MLP prediction model returns a promising result in terms
of accuracy over other techniques for predicting tourist response based on ratings (1-5) in which has
19% better accuracy than the other techniques tested. In conclusion, this study could contribute to the
field of study by introducing a predictive model and could help destination marketers evaluate tourists’
responses to a certain destination in advance, and could also potentially influence the final destination
choice by improving marketing strategies accordingly. Destinations might use these analyses to predict
the weaknesses or strengths of their image based on the analysis of tourists’ reviews.

Location-based Service (LBS) Application Design as Jeneponto District Tourist Information Media
Location-based service (LBS) is an application that can be used to show the location of a place so that it
is easier for users to find their destination. The existence of the Android operating system, which is
known as an open operating system, helps developers in creating applications that can be implemented
on the Android operating system. The implementation of LBS at tourist locations in Jeneponto Regency
is to make it easier for people to find tourist locations. Based on this, research was carried out on the
design of the LBS application as a promotional media for the Jeneponto district. This research is a type of
applied research, where researchers use the GRAPPLE (Gudline for Rapid Application Engineering)
method, where in this method each research step is carried out sequentially, starting from the stages of
data collection, planning, design, writing program code, and testing. Features used on Android devices
include the Global Positioning System (GPS), which are supported by the Google Maps API. The test
results in this research show that LBS can be used to search for tourist locations in Jeneponto Regency,
so that it can become a medium for information on tourist locations.

Innovation became important today’s generation. There are new-found technologies to help users to
cope with the fast and modern development of technologies. The study “I love Tacloban App” is an
Android application that provides information when visiting Tacloban City. Everything the user wants to
know, the fast food, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, malls, churches, tourist spots, events, different
delicacies, or even the emergency numbers, are in this app. It can also help locals or people outside the
city trying to find skilled workers in other places. It may even help promote the Tacloban to visitors and
other institutions and organizations. The findings of the study indicate that the application of mobile
apps proved to be an advantage in promoting tourism to the Tacloban area. This is a helpful guide,
especially to the tourists who are new to Tacloban. Thus, this study will further illustrate the
effectiveness of mobile apps in the tourism industry as a source of reference to the mobile apps
developer who created the advanced apps and gratifies the demand of tourists. The researchers believe
this system will help deliver tourism, cultural, and historical information to Tacloban visitors. This
research will further become a reference to future researchers in improving the quality of service of a
tourist destination.

iJuanderer: An Augmented Reality-Based Gamified Local Tourism and Cultural Heritage Promotion and
Preservation
JOEL T BAUTISTA, ANTHONY JAMES H VIZMANOS, RAZEL A STA MARIA, JONATHAN T MERCADO JR
(2022)
ABSTRACT iJuanderer AR: An Augmented Reality-based Gamified Local Tourism and Cultural Heritage
Promotion and Preservation aims to add museum setups using augmented reality (AR) technology, and
improves visitor experience and remote visiting of museums through a companion website. Its first
phase, or exploratory phase features Tarlac and its provincial museum and showcases tourism
information for dining, accommodation, heritage sites, and natural spots. The museum,“Diwa ng Tarlac”
translated in English as “Essence of Tarlac” was chosen as the host of the scanned artifacts and as the
location for the testing for external user acceptance (external UAT). The acceptance test scores were
measured using a Likert-type scale and the average score for all screens is 4.23. Thus, to address the
comments gathered from the UAT in Diwa ng Tarlac, systems improvement was done and implemented
for the final roll-out of the iJuanderer application.

Cloud-Based Flora Repository System with Geo-Location Mapping for Mt. Hamiguitan Sanctuary
Exploration
Delan Zoe H Arenga, Jennifer C Dela Cruz, Franch Maverick A Lorilla, Paul A Tangian (2018 )
Mount Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary is the only mountain range heritage site among the six
UNESCO World Heritage Sites found in the Philippines. It is the largest pygmy `bonsai' forest rich with
biodiversity of endangered, endemic and rare species of flora that attract not only tourists but also
foreign researchers. However, both tourism and research could threaten the sanctuary's conservation if
not managed well. Through this study, the Mount Hamiguitan's different flora species, their habitat, and
its distribution can be located on the map while doing exploration using a location-based mobile
application named as HAGO (Hamiguitan-Go). A mountain explorer who will use the HAGO APP will act
as a PS (Participatory Sensing) using his/her smartphone's built-in GPS, internet and camera to geotag
the captured plant he/she encountered while hiking. Once verified, the geotagged picture and its
information details are stored in an online repository system of plants. The APP users can look into the
lists of plants they want to explore and locate on the map using geo-location mapping. Further
developments and several on-site experiments must be conducted to achieve a fully-functional cloud-
based system.

Romblon islands into a smart tourism destination through point of interest recommender, augmented
reality and near field communication: A proposal
The Philippine tourism industry is expected to grow with more tourists visiting and through the
discovery, development, and improvement of tourist attractions. Through partnerships with the local
government and media developer groups, there have been implementations of e-Tourism in the
country. Though e-Tourism is an effective way of tourism promotion, smart tourism offers a more
innovative way such that it enhances the tourist experience through anticipation of their needs through
smart recommendations of points of interests, attractions and services while sharing their experiences
to aid other tourists' decision making on which places to visit. Smart tourism is a fundamental need for
such cities or municipalities which have historical value and tourist attractions. Due to this, the study
aims at creating a smart tourism destination framework that would be applicable to the current
information and communications infrastructure of the Romblon Islands. A smart tourism mobile
application will be developed that would feature a Point of Interest Recommender based on user's
location, check-in ratings, and social network ratings. Augmented reality and near field communication
will be used to bridge the physical and digital world. The application's acceptance will be investigated
using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology.

Growth Determinants from the Business Continuity Plans of Selected Travel Companies in the
Philippines
This study examines the business continuity plans of selected travel companies in the Philippines.
Growth determinants, as influenced by awareness to external and internal environments, include
product, price, customer, cost of goods sold, sales volume, operating expenses, profit and loss with
research and repositioning. Responses were collected from the travel companies or 80% (218) of the
targeted respondents. A stratified sampling technique was used with the Pearson correlation coefficient
which proved the link between BCPs or business continuity plans and growth determinants. It is
recommended that periodic adjustments on operations or standard procedures be made as travel
related businesses are market and customer driven. Changes in tourism policies, government
regulations, preferences of clients, even the current inflation prod strategies to manage sales, income
and company expenses. Adapting current business continuity plans ensure growth for travel companies
in the now normal. Future research can deal with tour operators, accommodation, other travel and
tourism providers using BCPs and discerning if their growth indicators are similar or not.
