MGT4104 – PM FUNDAMENTALS
Project Objective:
There are two main objectives to this assignment:
1. Part 1: To have students reflect on the process of teamwork and gain knowledge on strategies, techniques,
approaches and actions for improving their ability to excel at working with others in a team environment, while
practicing working together as a team. As project managers and/or members of a team, students can apply
these strategies and techniques to improve their effectiveness and efficiency at project teamwork.
2. Part 2: To have students understand the workload and assignment schedule for the term.
Project Instructions:
This assignment will be done in assigned groups and is worth 5% of the final course grade.
Part 1:
Each team will develop and deliver one of the following deliverables, the team is free to choose between:
1. A research paper, or
2. A video
In order to create your tips on how to excel at teamwork, you will need to research strategies, techniques, approaches
and/or actions individuals can employ to improve their ability to perform in a project team.
If you choose to prepare a written research paper, you will need to follow the APA manuscript format outlined in the
Pocket Guide to APA Style, 6th edition (information on this format starts on page 27 of the guide and example formats
are presented beginning on page 117 of the guide).
If you are preparing a video, you will need to ensure that each of your team members has a speaking part. Be creative
about how you present the material.
For either the written research paper or the video, ensure that you thoroughly review the Pocket Guide to APA Style to
ensure that you properly cite your sources and follow formatting, grammatical and word choice guidance. The
deliverable is expected to be professionally presented, meaning:

Part 2:
Complete the Program Schedule of Deliverables Template by reviewing the Course Section Information (CSI)
document for each course and identifying all assignment and assessment deliverables due in each week. Include all
group as well as individual assignments/assessments so that you have a comprehensive view of all due dates and
workload for the term.
Submission:
Peer Evaluation:
Each individual must complete and submit (via BrightSpace) a peer evaluation in order to receive a grade for this
assignment. You can find the peer evaluation document under your ‘Contents’ in the ‘Assignments’ module in
BrightSpace.
Citing References:
Ensure that all of your research sources used are cited. You can use the following website to generate a properly
formatted reference citation: http://www.lib.ncsu.edu/citationbuilder/. Select APA 6 (American Psychological
Association 6th edition) as the citation style.
