Corrosion Of Petroleum Industry Essay
1. Abstract:
Corrosion is a destructive attack of a material by reaction with its environment and a
natural potential hazard associated with oil and gas production and transportation
facilities. This material degradation results in the loss of mechanical properties like
strength, ductility, impact strength and so on.
In order to ensure smooth and uninterrupted flow of oil and gas to the end users it is
imperative for the field operators, pipeline engineers and designers to be corrosion
conscious as the lines and their component fittings would undergo material degradation
due to corrosion.
2. Introduction:
Petroleum is naturally occurring yellow to black liquid found in geological formation
beneath the earth surface which is then refined to get various fuels as petrol, diesel etc. It
is derived from a Latin word Petra which means rock and oleum which means oil.
Petroleum is generated in a source rock from which it migrates through a permeable and
porous medium called the reservoir where it gets trapped by structures namely fault or
cap rock. In present scenario, no doubt petroleum industry is governing world s economy.
The petroleum industry includes the processes of exploration, extraction, refining,
transporting and marketing petroleum products. The industry is divided into three major
streams which are upstream, midstream and downstream. Upstream mainly includes
exploration and production of oil wells. Gathering, processing/refining, transportation and
storage
Taylor Swift Rhetorical Analysis
Everyone can relate to at least one Taylor Swift song. Whether you relate it to another
person in your life, current world issues, or even your pet. She has written numerous
songs that people of various ages can relate to. This is only one of the countless reasons
that Taylor Swift is one of my favorite artists.
Taylor Swift s music is one of my passions; the other is politics. Having two passions is
vast, but combining my two passions is even better. Being able to relate to so many
songs that Swift has written, I have also been able to relate them to many of the
presidential candidates that want to be America s next president. From Carly Fiorina to
Ted Cruz to Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump, everyone in politics has that one Taylor ...

Taylor Swift s song, Dear John , has Ted Cruz written all over it. When Speaker of the
House, John Boehner, was asked about Cruz s campaign, Boehner simply replied with
putting his middle finger up. After hearing about this incident, it did get me to wondering
if Swift had actually written this song for Ted Cruz.
Next, we have the other woman who is running for the presidency, Hillary Clinton. This
is not the first time we have heard Hillary Clinton s name. She was the First Lady for
eight years and the Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013. In saying all of this, the only
Taylor Swift song that could accurately represent Clinton would be We Are Never Ever
Getting Back Together. We have seen Clinton as First Lady and Secretary of State, we
do not want to see her as President.
In contrast to Hillary Clinton, there is Donald Trump, who is not a politician. Trump
is a real estate mogul, but has entered the presidential race in full swing and means
serious business. If Donald Trump was represented by a Taylor Swift song, he would
be Shake It Off. Trump has taken many blows from the media and the candidates
running against him. With hearing these vile remarks, Trump has been able to shake it
off and shake right into being the leading GOP candidate. Who knows, maybe Donald
Trump will be shaking it off all the way into the White
